Historia
Twenty-four-year-old Saeris Fane is good at keeping secrets. No one knows about the strange powers she possesses or the fact that she has been picking pockets and stealing from the Undying Queen's reservoirs for as long as she can remember. But a secret is like a knot. Sooner or later, it is bound to come undone. When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. The Fae have always been the stuff of myth, of legend, of nightmares… but it turns out they're real.

fantastically performed and wickedly well written
Revisado: 02-21-25
First things first, the voice that the author writes with is absolutely amazing. The wry wit, sarcasm, and banter of this book make it so entertaining! I love the FMC and was actually angry the book had ended! I can't wait for the next one this fall.

Historia
The Legend of Beka Cooper gives Tamora Pierce's fans exactly what they want - a smart and savvy heroine making a name for herself on the mean streets of Tortall's Lower City - while offering plenty of appeal for new readers as well. From the Hardcover edition.

The ultimate climax of a series
Revisado: 06-28-23
While I love each of the Beka Cooper books individually, and they are amazing on a stand alone basis, the 3 of them together with this culmination of the series is just so gratifying and wonderful. I have been a fan of Tamora Pierce since I was 12 years old and passing around the Alanna series, but Beka Cooper is most definitely my new favorite heroine of her incredible, strong women. The way that Pierce portrays her characters is so incredibly life like that you end up feeling for them, feeling with them, and leaves you crying when they cry. Susan Denaker is outstanding at doing different voices, and while I thoroughly enjoy her voice for Goodwin in the previous books, her voice for Tunstall in this one definitely shines.
