Historia
Dale Maharidge’s father, like many World War II veterans, never talked about “the good war”. There was just one clue to his dad’s experience as a US Marine - a portrait with a close friend that hung permanently in their home. In The Dead Drink First, Dale, now a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, recounts his 18-year quest to find and repatriate the missing remains of his dad’s buddy, Herman Walter Mulligan, 73 years after he was killed in action.

Good story
Revisado: 07-20-19
I liked the story. It was cool to hear how and what he did to find out the man in the photograph. My only complaint was I had to turn the volume up and down in my car so I could hear some of the audio clearly. When he was just talking it was fine but when the audio was played(which i liked hearing it) I had to turn it up to hear some. Just a minor complaint and wouldn’t turn any one away from the book

Colleen McElroy grew up wealthy and pampered, the daughter of a prominent society family in Lexington, Kentucky. Good story, didn't like narrators voice at first
Revisado: 05-11-17
It took about 30 mins of listening to like the narrators voice. Something about it I just didn't like at first but the more you listen it gets better. As for the story I liked it. Thought it was a little slow in the beginning and forgot what the book was even about but I understand that the author was trying to build the character while hinting of her back story. Once I got into the real story line then it had my attention and I actually sat in my living listening to it to see what happens. I usually just listen on the way to work and back.
