Historia
At the end of his Grand Tour, somewhere between Athens and Constantinople, Christian Selwyn, the young Earl of Hazelmere, vanished—seemingly without trace. Time passes. In London, his uncle and cousin move into his home, while his unofficial fiancée, Sophia, is left desolate and in limbo.

An excellent story told well
Revisado: 08-24-23
Stella Riley knocked it out of the park with this one. I love the narrator who makes every scene come alive. I found the story to be believable, interesting and compelling. The sex was off screen within marriage. There were no boring parts I wanted to skim. I recommend to anyone who enjoys Regency Romance. Brava to the author!

Historia
Will, Viscount Wingrave, whiles away his time gambling and bedding married women, thwarted in his wish to serve his country by his controlling father. News that his errant son has fought a duel with a jealous husband is the last straw for the Earl of Marstone. He decrees that Will must marry. The earl's eye lights upon Connie Charters, unpaid housekeeper and drudge for a poor but socially ambitious father who cares only for the advantage her marriage could bring him.

A satisfying tale
Revisado: 05-13-23
A forced marriage of strangers leads to growing maturity and love. Both the H and the h have dreadful fathers who treated them abominably once their mothers died. The story is interesting and original. Personal growth of the characters is the main st compelling part of the book. I plan to continue reading this series.

Historia
Samantha Sykes is a beautiful young woman, but her life is ugly. Her wicked stepmother, twisted with jealousy, arranges a marriage for Samantha with a rich, arrogant, and cruel man. It's only the actions of her concerned father that save her from this fate worse than death. Or so it seems, until she discovers that her father’s plan is to send her hundreds of miles away to Lord Callum’s castle in Inverness, as servant and cook to a disfigured beast of a man, hidden from all but those who dare enter his maternal grandfather’s home.

A Beauty & the Beast + Cinderella Attempt
Revisado: 11-24-22
Overall Meh. Comes across as a beginner’s attempt at writing post Regency fiction. I listened to all of it and felt disappointed throughout. The characters are cartoonish, the plot makes little sense. The main characters are depicted as virtual saints whom God will save with little if any effort on their parts. The ‘bad guys’ are entirely evil with no redeeming characteristics whom God punishes in the end. The worst plot point is that the heroine’s father abandons his two daughters from the step-mother without comment at the end. I do not recommend.

This is one of the best audio books I have ever heard. The ebook was published in 2013 I believe and I remember reading it. It was hugely popular. The narrator is brilliant too. So glad I bought the audio version.

Historia
A fateful shipwreck leaves the young and wealthy Lord Brandon presumed dead, and his estate in England lies abandoned and ripe for the picking. Years later, his step-cousin Justine finds him alive and drug-addicted, and against his family's wishes, boldly brings him home to reclaim his inheritance. Dark surprises disturb Brandon at every turn - a ruined property, a traitorous, bitter family, his fiancee married to his rival. And Justine, the shy, quiet girl he grew up with is no longer a little girl, but an alluring and determined young woman.

Human Frailties Transcended
Revisado: 11-25-20
The H/h are imperfect yet decent people who are tossed about by life, do their best and come right in the end. It is a long book yet kept my interest throughout. There is explicit sex yet in the context of the story it makes sense to show it. The people felt real. The situations worked with the story. Really well done.

She spied him in the shadows... And in an instant, Thalia Langley knew the man before her was no saint. He might claim to be the Duke of Hollindrake's unassuming country cousin, but no man that handsome, that arresting, could be anything but...well, he simply must be an unrepentant rogue. Indeed, Lord Larken is no bumbling vicar, but a master spy there in his majesty's service to find - and murder - a notorious pirate freed in a daring prison escape.

Adventuress Regency Misses Fall in Love
Revisado: 09-17-20
Enjoyed the story. Unusual yet pretty plausible. Listened to the audible book. Had trouble putting it down. Only issue, the narrator pronounced “harrumph” in a way that made no sense. Otherwise she did well.
