Who was the genius that decided loud ending credits were needed for a sleep hypnosis?
Revisado: 06-06-24
The sleep hypnosis itself is great, but then after you fall asleep, you are loudly and abruptly woken up by the ending credits! It goes from soft tranquil voices and music to a loud abrupt ending credits chapter. Not one person tried this hypnosis out before they published it?

“How to analyze people if you’re a robot” written by a robot, should have been the title.
Revisado: 05-27-24
You’ll need a laptop, excel spreadsheet, and a 100 question survey filled out by every person you come across in order to utilize the skills in this book. I bought this book because I thought it would teach things similar to FBI profiling techniques. I am already fantastic with reading people and socializing but I wanted to be even better. If you struggle with understanding human interactions and have always been an outsider, this book won’t help you. It sounds like a robot wrote it for other robots.

Historia
Brain over Binge provides both a gripping personal account and an informative scientific perspective on bulimia and binge eating disorder. The author, Kathryn Hansen, candidly shares her experience as a bulimic and her alternative approach to recovery. Brain over Binge is different from other eating disorder books which typically present binge eating and purging as symptoms of complex emotional and psychological problems.

Biography not How To Book
Revisado: 05-20-20
She tells you how she cured her binge eating but doesn’t ever explain how you can use that mindset too. Basically, she says separate yourself from your thoughts about wanting to eat, but HOW??? She never explains that, she references another book a lot and sounds like this other book may have some more explanations but hers didn’t. It was a complete waste of time.

For literature buffs only
Revisado: 02-16-18
I couldn’t listen to more than half the book because I was so bored. I felt like he was more interested in naming other authors than he was telling his story. Considering he is dying, I thought he would convey deep life meaning but the main focus seemed to be literature. For a memoir about his death, I just assumed it would get more personal but half way through and I still haven’t felt an emotional connection to him. I haven’t felt even one profound or inspiring moment while listening to this book and that’s why I bought it, to be inspired. Maybe it gets better after the second half but I’d rather move on at this point.

Historia
Everyone thinks I'm a genius. Everyone is wrong. Sure, I finished Harvard at eighteen and now make crazy money at a hedge fund. But that's not because I'm unusually smart or hard-working. It's because I cheat. You see, I have a unique ability. I can go outside time into my own personal version of reality - the place I call - "the Quiet" - where I can explore my surroundings while the rest of the world stands still.I thought I was the only one who could do this - until I met her.

B or C grade book
Revisado: 04-16-17
The narrator seems fairly new to reading, he's mostly monotone and puts emphasis on words that don't need it. He's not annoying or doesn't make strange noises like some bad narrators, you can just tell that he's new to this. However, he doesn't have a great platform either. The book mostly takes place in the "quiet" in which time is stopped and people are frozen in place. The writer did a pretty bad job at explaining this environment because it was so repetitive. It was not only repetitive in the storyline but they literally repeat explanations over and over again. They repeat who's thinking what for every sentence which really distracts from falling into the story and imagination of it all. The reason I gave this story a 3 was because I loved the content, but not really the plot. The story is slow and there's only pieces of action but a story about mind reading is intriguing. This book is like a B or C grade book, it's not terrible but it's not great either. The mystery is fairly intriguing and the storyline flows even though it's slow paced.

Historia
Seventeen-year-old Nadia lives in Canaan, a quiet city in an idyllic world, hemmed in by high walls that are constructed of a material no one in her town recognizes. Every 12 years the people of Canaan undergo a collective Forgetting; in the days before, the town devolves into a chaos of bloody violence, and afterward the people are left without any trace of memory of themselves, their families, their lives. Nadia has never forgotten, however.

Unlikely Hero Story
Revisado: 03-27-17
No Spoilers: This story had mystery, a few "didn't see that coming", romance, and some action. It also had some "inaction" that I know annoyed myself and a few other reviewers. The main character is an extreme introvert and struggles with outward communication. However, its written so you can hear her thoughts, so you can still follow along, as she often doesn't respond to questions from the other characters. However, the story itself was beautifully written, her shyness is simply a character trait. So if you love stories about unlikely heroes, then you'll love her! The story is unique and exciting.

Good plot, bad narration
Revisado: 01-29-17
Orlagh is not a good reader when she has to voice multiple characters and it really distracts from the story. The narration was often cheesy. The mystery was good. I didn't realize the author until I downloaded it, I'm not of fan of his work.

Historia
Thomas Kilbride is a map-obsessed schizophrenic so affected that he rarely leaves the self-imposed bastion of his bedroom. But with a computer program called Whirl360.com, he travels the world while never so much as stepping out the door. He pores over and memorizes the streets of the world. He examines every address, as well as the people who are frozen in time on his computer screen. Then he sees something that anyone else might have stumbled upon - but has not - in a street view of downtown New York City: an image in a window. An image that looks like a woman being murdered.

Mouth dropping then you'll need to re-listen
Revisado: 01-22-16
What made the experience of listening to Trust Your Eyes the most enjoyable?
A good mystery should be able to shock you and you shouldn't be able to figure out every mystery on your own. This book was a good mystery! However, it was so good that I actually had to go back and re-listen to old chapters because it didn't make sense to me. Sometimes, there is one key phrase that you didn't pick up on and before you know it, you'll be like "huh?" "wait, what?" and you will have to go back and listen to chapters over again. I do like being surprised though so I didn't mind.
What did you like best about this story?
I like how there is not just one mystery to solve, but many mysteries all at once that someone melt together seamlessly in the end. I like the dynamics of the characters, how you can't quite label one character to be any particular way because they end up surprising you.
Have you listened to any of Ken Marks and Rick Holmes ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have never listened to them before and they just received another fan! I am already looking for other books he wrote.

Loved it. First time listening to Nora.
Revisado: 01-02-16
I thought it would be more action but even though it wasn't action packed, it was a great story! I usually listen to post apocalyptic novels, things with a lot of despair and suffrage. It was nice to listen to a story that was realistic and kept me interested even without every scene being action packed. You will grow to love the characters and Julia is awesome. I actually gave this book a chance because Julia was reading and I liked her so much in the Partials series. This was actually my first Nora Roberts novel and I am a fan now!
