A Good Follow Up
Revisado: 12-26-20
Ready Player One continues to be a favorite listen. All of the joy of listening to Will Wheaton’s performance returns here. Also, the leverage of the 80’s nostalgia paired with video game mania make this a fun trip!
Though it lacks the originality of the first trip into the Oasis - it is always wonderful to meet old friends... and meet some new ones along the way!
Be patient and this will delight you by the end!

Historia
In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the OASIS, a vast virtual world where most of humanity spends their days. When the eccentric creator of the OASIS dies, he leaves behind a series of fiendish puzzles, based on his obsession with the pop culture of decades past. Whoever is first to solve them will inherit his vast fortune—and control of the OASIS itself.

A Nostalgic Quest of Epic Proportions
Revisado: 07-03-20
This novel, and Will Wheaton’s narration is so captivating that I find myself yearning to begin the story all over again as the credits roll.
If you love video games, 1980’s nostalgia, or truly epic stories with deep characters and vaulting landscapes, you need to insert a quarter and select, Ready Player One.

One turn too many
Revisado: 04-23-20
This story captivated me with twists and turns. But, there is such a thing as too many turns. The last 30
Minutes left largely disappointed. Had the story ended with the second to last revelation, I would have given it 5 stars.

Historia
In March 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson sent troops into Vietnam. 57,939 American soldiers would be killed and 17 years would pass before this controversial chapter of American history concluded with the dedication of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in 1982. The history of this era is complex; the cultural impact extraordinary. But it's the personal stories of eight people - six American soldiers, one American nurse, and one Vietnamese refugee - that form the heartbeat of Boots on the Ground. Each individual's story reveals a different facet of the war and moves us forward in time.

A Complete Picture
Revisado: 12-22-18
Partridge’s approach to the narrative of Vietnam is compelling. Though the many unique voices, one is able to grasp a more complete look at this complex struggle.
Porter’s reading is engaging.
This is a must have for anyone teaching about Vietnam.
