From Mae West and Lenny Bruce to Richard Pryor and Howard Stern to Kathy Griffith and Kevin Hart, comedians have long been under fire for using provocative, often taboo subjects to challenge mores and get a laugh. But in the age of social media, comedians are at greater risk of being silenced, enduring shaming, threats, and damaged careers because of angry, censorious electronic mobs.

Both joyous tribute and serious biography, Mike Thomas' You Might Remember Me is a celebration of Phil Hartman's multi-faceted career and an exhaustively reported, warts-and-all examination of his often intriguing and sometimes complicated life - a powerful, humor-filled and disquieting portrait of a man who was loved by many, admired by millions and taken from them far too early.

Revisado: 03-23-24
One of the most underrated comedic and stage performer that ever existed. I love Phil Hartman!! This book really captures Phil Hartman's life and tragic sudden end. Sure wish he was around today, making fun of all of today's topics and American politics. Phil Hartman was a very giving human being and very much loved by those close to him. Great book!! Miss you Phil!!

Revisado: 10-06-23
Great story, terrific biography!!! Us humans love to exaggerate and embellish the truth. Violence and evil intrigues us as long it doesn't touch us personally. Alphonse Capone was a very nefarious man but he was also a very kind, compassionate and loving human being. His demise was very sorrowful. Mr. Capone was a man for his time. He supplied our vice and gave his life for it. CHEERS, Mr. Al Capone!! Also, Rob Shapiro is a professional and clear orator.

All the good and evil energy in the ether
Revisado: 04-22-23
Holter Graham's performance is phenomenal!! His subtle way of changing his voice to interpret the different characters is perfect. I could actually visualize Arnie, Dennis, Leigh, Buddy and the nefarious LeBay. I love John Carpenter's film Christine, but King tells it best with the help of Mr. Graham. I highly recommend this Stephen King book. Arnie would sing, "I'm in love with my car," as I am in love with this novel!

The story of how The Godfather was made is as dramatic, operatic, and entertaining as the film itself. Over the years, many versions of various aspects of the movie’s fiery creation have been told - sometimes conflicting, but always compelling. Mark Seal sifts through the evidence, has extensive new conversations with director Francis Ford Coppola and several heretofore silent sources, and complements them with colorful interviews with key players including actors Al Pacino, James Caan, Talia Shire, and others.

This is a book you can't refuse!
Revisado: 03-31-23
I am a huge fan of the greatest actor that ever lived,Marlon Brando, so of course I Iove "The Godfather." I recently watched the Paramount limited series "The Offer" and it was great! But this book goes way deeper behind the scenes-behind the scenes. It's interesting to find out where the many famous Godfather quotes came from. Background on the actors' character development also intriguing. All the stories are great and being a big admirer of Brando I especially love those. He was a great humanitarian with compassion for Native Americans and, surprisingly, a terrific sense of humour. I love this book and you better believe it, I LOVE MARLON BRANDO!!

In a time when our political and cultural views feel more polarized than ever, Tyson provides a much-needed antidote to so much of what divides us, while making a passionate case for the twin chariots of enlightenment—a cosmic perspective and the rationality of science. After thinking deeply about how science sees the world and about Earth as a planet, the human brain has the capacity to reset and recalibrates life’s priorities, shaping the actions we might take in response. No outlook on culture, society, or civilization remains untouched.

Dr. Tyson gives us a better understanding of our existence and our habitation. I believe very strongly that if there is a "God," his voice will be Dr. Tyson's. Amen! Thank you Dr. Tyson!!

A young boy is found horribly murdered in a mock crucifixion. Is the murderer the elderly woman who witnessed the crime? A neurologist who can no longer bear the pain life inflicts on its victims? A psychiatrist with a macabre sense of humor and a guilty secret? A mysterious mental patient, locked in silent isolation? Lieutenant Kinderman follows a bewildering trail that links all these people, confronting a new enigma at every turn even as more murders surface. Why does each victim suffer the same dreadful mutilations? Why are two of the victims priests?

Revisado: 10-11-22
The film, The Exorcist III, is a great movie, with amazing performances by George C Scott and Brad Dourif. Thus, I wanted to read the book. This novel is intriguing and full of philosophical quotes, with some comedic lines. Also, the book goes more into detail, like books usually do, explaining a lot of what we do not understand in the movie. Love this book. Makes me want to watch the film again.

This book has really changed me. I am going to do my best to apply these tips and strategies discussed in this terrific book. This beautiful and funny book should be part of teachers' curriculum in middle school, high school and college. And maybe, just maybe, our society will be better for it. We(our country)are really in need of learning compassion towards our fellow man. Thank you so much Dr. Trzeciak and Dr. Mazzarelli!!
