What if your best reasons to doubt God prove that He exists? In an engaging and memorable way, Stealing From God shows how many atheistic arguments, instead of disproving God, reveal that He actually exists.

Historia
Taoist living rests on four pillars: the public, the domestic, the private, and the spirit lives. Not only do Taoists strive to live these four aspects fully and in a balanced way, they also believe there is an outlook and an art to each of them. Eva Wong uses the teachings of Taoist masters themselves to explain the essential concepts. She then gives voice to these texts - simplifying them, removing barriers to understanding, and making them completely accessible and relevant to the modern reader.

Taoism talks a lot about Jesus without even mentioning His name. Once one realize the Truth, one can not even contemplate the Way, the Truth, or the Life without recognizing that He is Jesus. Shalom 🙏✝️❤️

From leading geopolitical expert and technology futurist Jamie Metzl comes a groundbreaking exploration of the many ways genetic engineering is shaking the core foundations of our lives-sex, war, love, and death. At the dawn of the genetics revolution, our DNA is becoming as readable, writable, and hackable as our information technology. But as humanity starts retooling our own genetic code, the choices we make today will be the difference between realizing breathtaking advances in human well-being and descending into a dangerous and potentially deadly genetic arms race.

the author is no scientist
Revisado: 01-29-25
someone should remind the author that he is not a scientist, biologist, or engineer. his phd is in asian history and it is clear that he is ignorant of all else. he grossly misrepresents all other american and world history.
i honestly thought this would be an interesting book. i was mistaken. it is nothing more than progressive fear mongering and propaganda. the author virtually suggests that the conservative minded need to get with the program or risk being snuffed out. he simultaneously accuses this potential conservative resistance of being akin to nazism. really? his side are thr one's making the threat.
the progressives are the one's who often, if not always, use fear mongering and deception to promote, perpetuate, and propagate their rhetoric and agendas. despicable.
fyi, I'm not defending the other side here. this is an objective take on this book.

some nuggets and info. biased and subjective.
Revisado: 11-05-24
Very biased, selective and subjective perspective on Jesus and scripture. There are some good nuggets and information presented, but it is wholly tainted by her biases. I was initially quite interested, but the book went way downhill and fast after the first 2-3 chapters. Don't be fooled by the author's apparent woke Catholic, pseudo-enlightened, pseudo-intellectual, biased perspective. It is quite misguided and ignores all scripture which challenges her views. Take heed. Shalom 🙏✝️❤️

Historia
Naming Darwin's Black Box to the National Review's list of the 100 most important nonfiction works of the 20th century, George Gilder wrote that it "overthrows Darwin at the end of the 20th century in the same way that quantum theory overthrew Newton at the beginning". Discussing the book in the New Yorker in May 2005, H. Allen Orr said of Behe, "He is the most prominent of the small circle of scientists working on intelligent design, and his arguments are by far the best known."

facts
Revisado: 07-10-24
I have no real criticism of the book itself. However, after reading many of the critical reviews of this book, I noticed a pattern emerge. Almost every single critical review of "Darwin's Black Box" either has an extremely biased perspective against creation and/or they fail to differentiate between micro-evolution and macro-evolution. Perhaps this is not by accident.
Behe's goal is not to disprove evolution. The point of the book is to show the fragility of Darwinism. Read more carefully.

Historia
The great fourth-century church father Basil of Caesarea once observed that, in his time, most Christians believed that hell was not everlasting, and that all would eventually attain salvation. But today, this view is no longer prevalent within Christian communities. In this momentous book, David Bentley Hart makes the case that nearly two millennia of dogmatic tradition have misled readers on the crucial matter of universal salvation.

good but relatively ambiguous
Revisado: 05-23-24
I enjoyed the book, overall. I think there were some irrational presuppositions that could need reviewing. It is possible that one of the authors other publications covers these points. A few of the authors conclusions didn't sit quite right with me. As the author had said, there could be some bias in some of his conclusions. I believe that there was. It was still a good read (listen).

scientific conjecture and atheistic bias
Revisado: 05-22-24
The steady state theory has since been rejected. However, some aspects are being resurrected to some effect.
Evolution is not fact. it is merely scientific fact. What is the difference? Consensus.
According to Sagan, God is not only not necessary but shouldn't even be a consideration. I enjoy science, but this is just naive.
I've already forgotten more about actual science than this books has offered on its behalf. Considering when it was written, it is a decent read.
I have more to say, but I don't think I have the patience nor the energy to elaborate any further.
