his madness gave him purpose
Revisado: 10-24-23
I enjoyed this story, and my main takeaway from it was that his madness gave his life purpose and meaning. take that away, and he had nothing else left.

interpersonal tools useful to everyone
Revisado: 05-17-19
the wonderful thing about this book, is that the tools and concepts presented, can be put to use the same day you hear them. it's not magic, and really rings of common sense. I think in our day-to-day lives we get a little bit lazy and put aside the common sense rules presented in this book. but the evidence presented in this book for how well these rules work, encourages us to put these tools back to work in our day-to-day lives.

One of the books everyone should read
Revisado: 04-10-17
It’s an American classic to be sure.
I love becoming a wolf and seeing life in this way.
There was a minor errer in the telling somewhere between chapters 10-15.
The author was discussing Gray Beaver and White Fang, and accidentally called White Fang Gray Fang.
Enjoy!

Hardly a "story", more like a somewhat interesting documentary.
There could have been a story here, but the telling was overdone with dry facts.

Wonderful book - has some technical difficulties.
Revisado: 09-08-16
Wonderful book, but this version has some technical difficulties.
John Lee did a superb job at telling this London classic. But I had to downgrade my rating from 5 stars to 4 due to some really obvious and poorly done edits.
Many times, maybe 10, the recording is spliced or otherwise edited whereby chopping the spoken word. This distortion makes spoken word almost unintelligible. Sometimes you can get it by context, other times you just lose the word altogether.
It’s a great story, and wonderfully told. But these poorly done edits would cause me to look for another version had known this before buying this one.
PS. Recommendation to Audible: Please add another category for rating the book, maybe ‘production’ or something.

Historia
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.

Not a book for adult men
Revisado: 06-28-16
I wanted to read this book for its renown, but quickly realized it was a shallow tale of the most self-absorbed and nauseating girlish fantasies.
What made this book worse was its never ending march of vapid pseudo lives where nothing ever happens.
There was an exchange on or about chapter SIXTY where a bit of wit surfaced above a catfight, but that hardly made up for the lost hours suffering through.
Timeless this work is not.

When she is 12, the Nazis occupy Paris and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great-uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel.

I enjoyed the story and narrator did a really fine job. I guess if I had to criticize something, it would be that it seemed longer than it needed to be. I guess I would have preferred an abridged version.

The story felt a bit rushed and technical details just kind of tossed out there, like the whole part about the nuclear device.
