Another FANTASTIC Book
Revisado: 12-28-23
I am a huge fan of this whole series. TJ London delivered another well crafted story which weaves in and out of the lives of John and Dellis and the people they touch. Set admit the Revolutionary War, TJ London writes a world steeped in historical accuracy, gut wrenching emotions, and love to make me want to throttle the main characters. Anytime that I am talking out loud to characters in an audiobook, it's a good sign because that means I am wrapped up so deeply in a vivid world with characters I see as real.
The production is top notch. This multi-cast of narrators brings only the best voices to the characters and the narration. There is a reason TJ London's audiobooks keep winning awards. Excellently written, performed, and produced!

Exceptional ... everything
Revisado: 08-02-22
I am an avid reader and enjoy all kinds of genres. I bought this book because I was enamored with the narrators and saw that TJ London had won an award for this book. Let me tell you, I haven't read a book this well written in a long time.
TJ London obviously did in depth research into the American Revolution. I truly felt as if I was in this Era and knew these characters. Don't be deterred by the use of modern language as this is a book written in the 2000's placed during the 1700's, and it makes the characters more approachable. I loved that not only is the imagery and scene set up excellently executed, the characters and plot lines are carefully crafted. I cannot wait to read more in this series.
This is a bit of a cliff hanger, but you don't mind because you are already invested in the lives of the characters. I also like that this is written about a British soldier fallen from grace and an outcast woman sharing two cultural backgrounds. I also learned more about the start of the Revolution than I have in school.
The narration is top notch, which is to be expected from these narrators.
I will and have raved about this book to many people and recommend it to men and women.

Atticus and Neil are the newly crowned "hottest male narration team" for Mmm-Mmm romance, and they're flying high on the praise. Nothing can get them down. Until Vera and Cameron usher a mysterious voice onto the scene and shake the foundation of the audiobook industry itself. In a world where humanity is all we have, can our group of former friends band together to save the future of storytelling? Or are audiobooks destined to be nothing more than a bunch of beep beep boop?

Another Gem from Erin Mallon
Revisado: 05-27-22
Erin Mallon has quickly become one of my favorite authors. Everytime she releases a new book or play, I know I am going to love it. I honestly don't even look at the blurb to see what it is about. Erin brings human emotions to life, which may seem a simple thing to do as we all have emotions, but so many writers have a difficult time giving emotions to their characters and making their readers feel them too. She has a true gift.
This play is the third and final installment in a trilogy of plays celebrating the romance audiobook world. The first two plays are comedic masterpieces because like all good comedy, it shows us our vulnerabilities and allows us to laugh in solidarity with others knowing we are not alone in our thoughts and actions. This play is a beautiful, funny end cap to this very fun trilogy.
I have come to love each character that we have met throughout this trilogy and Erin managed to introduce a new character that embodies a very real concern in this industry; artificial intelligence. Jason Clarke did a brilliant job of voicing the robot Artie Smarts. Because Jason IS human, there was a touch of humanity in his performance that isn't in AI, and that somehow made his character terrifying. I wasn't expecting to feel some tension, as I know that Erin's plays all end happily, but I legitimately felt a bit of anxiety at one point thanks to the actions of this robot.
I could go on and on, but truly I recommend listening to these fabulous plays. I recommend it to everyone, not just romance listeners/readers.

Time Travel Love
Revisado: 04-25-22
This was my first book by Monica Burns, and I really enjoyed her style of writing. This story was lush and had elements of eternal love and time traveling. I also love historical romances.
This book has elements of reincarnation, time travel, eternal love, and a bit of a mystery too. I don't want to say too much and give away the plot, but the book caught me within the first few minutes of listening.
Both of the narrators did a great job and I loved that it was duet style where the male narrator did all of the male voices and the female narrator performed all the female voices.
I highly recommend this book as you won't want to put it down once you start.
I was given this book to review, but that never affects my reviews as they are my honest opinion.

Something the Whet your Appetite
Revisado: 03-02-22
The production value of this slice of a larger story is incredible. I am impressed with the depth that has gone into creating a scene which is essentially the most brutal way to lose one's innocence. This is about a prince who has to make a terrible decision which will ultimately make him a great king. Well done!

Deeply Touching
Revisado: 02-09-22
I love Erin Mallon's writing. I know that everytime I listen to her plays, I'm going to find humor, fantastic performances, and a deep truth about human connections.
These plays all had a theme of parent/child relationships. There was always some disconnect with a parent and some parent figure filling in the gap of that disconnect. I found myself laughing, sure, but more often than not, I teared up during these deeply touching stories.
Erin has a gift of taking a story to the edge of appropriate and creating a believable space where we can connect with her characters. These plays will stay with you after you listen to them and they will make you think. I HIGHLY recommend them, just don't expect some light and fluffy hilarity. Expect to feel all of the emotions.

The dreamiest player on the Moo U hockey team hangs a flyer on the bulletin board, and I am spellbound: Rent a boyfriend for the holiday. For $25, I will be your Thanksgiving date. I will talk hockey with your dad. I will bring your mother flowers. I will be polite, and wear a nicely ironed shirt.... Now everyone knows it’s a bad idea to introduce your long-time crush to your messed-up family. But I really do need a date for Thanksgiving, even if I’m not willing to say why.

A fun ride
Revisado: 01-04-22
This is my first Sarina Bowen book and I must say that I'm impressed. I loved Weston and Abby so much. Both of the main characters have difficult home lives and find strength in each other's company. I am a sucker for fake relationships and this book had all the usuals, from sharing a bed, to having to "fake" kiss. The narration is excellent too. Emma Wilder does the best male voices and Jason Clarke is always great. I am definitely going to read more from this series.

Revisado: 12-30-21
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. This was my first MC book and I am definitely reading more from this author. I loved Link, his honor, passion for his club, and desire to aid others. Emily is a smart, strong, sassy, independent woman who matches Link in all ways. I enjoyed the story of finding justice for those who had been wronged. A well written story with excellent narration.

A Funny Heartfelt Christmas Love Story
Revisado: 12-15-21
This is my first Kayley Loring book and it is such a delight to listen to/read. I thought all of the characters were well thought out 3 dimensional people, and I loved their interactions with each other. Kayley seamlessly weaves humor into a sweet Fake Relationship story, which never feels forced or fake. MacKenzie Cartwright and Connor Crais were excellent narrators who brought depth to their characters. This is a book I will re-listen to in the future .

Don’t sleep with the nanny. That should be a simple rule to follow, but some things are easier said than done. Especially when the nanny I hire to take care of my wild child daughter turns out to be the one I can’t forget. The woman I shared a red-hot anonymous kiss with a few weeks ago when we were trapped in an elevator? Yeah, seems she’s one and the same - sweet, sexy, irresistible Daisy.

Like a Beloved Tune
Revisado: 12-05-21
This is my first Kim Lorraine book, and I have to say that I am hooked. I grew up reading my mom's Diana Palmer, Sandra Brown and Linda Lael Miller cowboy novels and this one scratched that familiar itch. I love that the characters are modern, respectful, intelligent, kind and that there wasn't a high amount of unnecessary drama.
Stella Hunter does an excellent job of giving a unique voice to each of the female characters, and does a great job voicing the sweet little 4 year old Carly. Jason Clarke is always excellent, and does a great job of giving Hawk depth of character.
I am definitely going to keep coming back to this book as it was easy to love the characters, and I look forward to listening to the other characters stories.
