Historia
Kevin Mitnick was the most elusive computer break-in artist in history. He accessed computers and networks at the world’s biggest companies—and however fast the authorities were, Mitnick was faster, sprinting through phone switches, computer systems, and cellular networks. He spent years skipping through cyberspace, always three steps ahead and labeled unstoppable.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I have already recommended this book to many of my college IT classmates. The book is very well written and paced. I have never even heard of Kevin Mitnick before this book, but boy is he an interesting guy! Sometimes by skill, sometimes by blind luck, Kevin evades authorities and becomes an infamous man of legend! This book will keep you on the edge of your seat waiting to find out what new ploy or trick Kevin did in his spare time, just for fun. hacking companies, phones and even the FBI! I loved this book and would highly recommend it to a friend.
What other book might you compare Ghost in the Wires to and why?
There is other Kevin Mitnick books called T"he art of deception" and "The art of intrusion" which expand deeper into his life and lessons (tricks) he has learned.
What does Ray Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Ray Porter gives life and exasperation to the characters in the book, especially Kevin. Ray did a great job narrating this book.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I listened to this book for hours in my first sitting. I had no idea who Kevin Mitnick was or what made people like/hate him so much. My IT college teacher absolutely hates Kevin Mitnick and I really wanted to know why. This made me want to listen to this book in one sitting, but obviously I had to eat, drink, work, and sleep so it wasn't possible.
Any additional comments?
Being an IT student I understood many of the thing Kevin did and talked about more than the average reader. That being said you don't have to have any prior technology learning to enjoy this book. He rarely goes into great detail on exactly what or how something was done, but still manages to explain the events very well. I was very pleasantly surprised by this book and I think you will be too.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Listen to the Preview, it Hooked me!
Revisado: 05-14-13
Would you listen to The Martian again? Why?
Yes! I loved this book and the main character's humor. What better way to cope with a life threatening situation that to look at the funnier side of things?
What did you like best about this story?
The humor, hands down. If this was just a book about some guy's experience on mars and how he handles certain problems, then there would be a limited curiosity factor that might draw me in for an hour or so....but the curiosity would soon fade to boredom. Luckily this book was full of anecdotal humor which kept the main character motivated to not give up and me motivated to keep listening!
Which scene was your favorite?
You would have to ask me that? Hahah! Oh man there was one part where he flips his rover and I was laughing even though I felt so bad for him. The way it was written just makes you laugh and cringe at the same time.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes!.......and No. I didn't want to listen to the book in one sitting because I know how I feel afterward. I regret not drawing out a great listen! I enjoy my books more if I can listen for several hours then take a break and play out all the scenes in my head that I just listened to throughout the day. This helps me to replay my favorite parts and at the same time satisfy my "pleasure delayer" personality. The short answer is yes I wanted to listen to this all day and finish it in a day, but I have self control :P
Any additional comments?
There is some occasional cussing in this book. If this doesn't bother you then get this book! There are some really interesting facts and cool ways he solves some of his problems. I loved the humor and some of the things that happen to the main character. This poor guy. I won't tell you if he survives or not, but lets just say he had it comin ;)

An Unexpected Delight!
Revisado: 05-14-13
What did you love best about Agent to the Stars?
I loved the humor! From beginning to end, the main character's easy-going attitude and funny outlook on problems made me enjoy his perspective throughout the book. That being said, the main alien, Joshua, is hilarious! I love his Sarcasm.
What other book might you compare Agent to the Stars to and why?
I don't know that I have read any other book that compares in all or most of the characteristics of this book (alien life forms, comical (at times), lighthearted, celebrities, etc) but there is another book that I read just before this one called "The Martian" which is a little more serious but still filled with tons of the lighthearted humor I enjoyed so much in this book. "The Martian" is also a great read if you enjoyed this book.
What about Wil Wheaton’s performance did you like?
Wil Wheaton, it seems, is perfect for this type of novel! Just listen to the preview for this book, he does a fantastic job! He changes his voice just enough to distinguish between the different characters which makes listening easier and more enjoyable. If he continues to work on this as he grows as a narrator he may be one of the best some day. I could listen to him narrate for hours (already did).
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
The only extreme reaction I had in this book was the literal "laugh out loud" moments in the book. I think there were a total of four for me. I hope you enjoy the main alien Joshua as much as me.
Any additional comments?
There are occasional cuss words in the book, presumably to make it more believable. If you are okay with this then get this book! Journeying through the book with the main character (the celebrity agent) is fun, funny, and quite interesting. Once you meet Joshua you will understand very quickly why I like him. If you need something a little less serious but really well written, get Agent to the Stars.

When our founding fathers secured the Constitutional “right of the people to keep and bear arms”, they also added the admonition that this right shall not be infringed. It is the only time this phrase appears in the Bill of Rights. So why aren’t more people listening? History has proven that guns are essential to self-defense and liberty - but tragedy is a powerful force and has led many to believe that guns are the enemy, that the Second Amendment is outdated, and that more restrictions or outright bans on firearms will somehow solve everything. They are wrong.

Get the Truth about Gun Control
Revisado: 05-14-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely! The information contained in this book is essential for anyone who wants to sit down and have an actual discussion about gun control. I know many people who believe all the talking heads they hear on TV (whom rarely use information based on facts) and those friends would benefit greatly from a dose of truth.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Well being as this isn't a novel but more of an oral presentation on guns and the Second amendment..... there really aren't any "characters" but if I had to choose I would say Glen of course, for giving us this inexpensive and informative book.
Which character – as performed by Jeremy Lowell and Glenn Beck – was your favorite?
As stated before, this isn't a novel this is an informative oral presentation about guns and the second amendment.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
It's the amendment that protects all OTHER amendments and the Constitution!
Any additional comments?
The book is very well written and researched. No excuses are made for the gun violence that actually DOES occur in this country, but our REAL statistics are measured against other nations REAL statistics which really helps the reader understand a truer perspective on our "gun problem" or lack thereof. The Author addresses many of the excuses and arguments used by people in favor of stricter gun laws/control and very evenly and factually debunks their sandy foundation arguments one by one. He exposes the talking heads and ignorant citizens for what they are. After all the facts and arguments are laid to rest he then attempts to explore the reasons behind the violence (guns or not) in our society. I am quite impressed with the level-headed approach the author takes when dismantling the issues surrounding gun control in this country (and others).

Daylight War doesn't disappoint!
Revisado: 03-27-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This is the third book in Peter V. Brett's Demon Cycle series, and the book holds true to the series roots for all those fans out there. I love the way the author stays true to his addictive writing style and expands upon the characters we already know and love. I'll admit the book is slow to get started but once it does it is a VERY satisfying listen (read). The epic battles and the awesome foes have you screaming in your mind telling the characters what to do or not do.
What other book might you compare The Daylight War to and why?
I would compare this series to the Wheel of Time series because of the progress of innocence to awesome power.
Which scene was your favorite?
I loved the final scene in the book! I can't say much more than buy it to find out why everyone loves to hate (or hates to love) the ending.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes, a lot, but wouldn't that give away parts of the story line to expand upon that? Lets just say Arlin finally gets a few things to go in his favor, and he is done being scared of his new ability and powers, but instead embraces them.
Any additional comments?
If you are looking at this book and wondering if you should get it, I have some advice for you. Look into the first two book and see what people are saying and praising about this series. Start the series with book 1 obviously but don't hesitate to get this book when the time comes. This series is one of the most entertaining, exciting, and well written series I have read (listened to) in a while.

Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

An Epic Mature Fantasy
Revisado: 08-30-12
Would you consider the audio edition of A Game of Thrones to be better than the print version?
Since I have never read the print version of aGoT I cannot comment on the print version of this novel. However, that being said, I absolutely love listening to audiobooks! I like the audiobook version better as long as the narrator is good. In the case of aGoT he is good!
What did you like best about this story?
The thing I liked best about the story was the character development. While the world building elements are solid, its the characters that make me want to keep listening. I have never read a story where so many of the main characters are coming of age all together. Usually it would be one or two as the main coming of age and the others would be sub-characters with relatively minor roles. That is not the case with George RR Martin's aGoT. These characters and their stories are more than enough to fill a novel, but George manages to add so many main characters that in the beginning you might get lost. Don't worry though, as the story progresses and you yourself become more entranced with the plot you will find yourself keeping up with all the little details. Although slow to start, the story becomes very gripping.
What does Roy Dotrice bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I had an intresting experience with Roy Dotrice. When I first began listening to aGoT I was not pleased with Roy's narration. I thought he spoke too quickly and mummbled words occasionally. I was having a hard time keeping up with the story. However, the longer I listened to him (I wasn't about to quit listening to a book I spent 2 credits on) the more I enjoyed his voice. He got in rythm with the characters and the story he began to read better (or I just got used to interpreting his unique nuances), Either way, by the third chapter I liked his performance.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The most shocking moment for me was the scene with Brand. The moment "it" happened I was shocked. You will know what I mean when you get there.
Any additional comments?
In conclusion, I would definitly recommend this book. Some people may look at the following list as negatives: Its long, with a lot of characters, and its slow to start. However these things can also be looked at as positives too. I'm telling you, you will even begin to like some of the villans in the novel. The characters are that good.

One of Stephen King's best
Revisado: 08-30-12
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this book to certain friends of mine. The plot might seem a little too dark and ominous for some casual readers, but for anyone who doesn't mind a long well written story, this may be just right for you.
What did you like best about this story?
Compared to some of his other books this novel's plot and content wasn't nearly as dark and sinister (which made me like it more). I have listened to many Stephen King novels and the post apocalyptic story he writes is a definite winner in my book. The only complaint I have regarding the story is that there are so many characters in the novel that I found myself wondering what five other characters were doing while reading about another character. I would like a little more focus on less main characters, but that's just me being picky.
What about Grover Gardner’s performance did you like?
I really liked the narrator for this novel. I'm fairly certain Grover has narrated other Stephen King novels in the past and its easy to hear why. His voice is clear, strong, and deep when it needs to be. Never once did I get tired of listening to his voice. His rendition of all the characters' voices was supremely done. He is still not as good as Frank Muller (RIP) or George Guidall but he is right there with them.
Who was the most memorable character of The Stand and why?
The most memorable character in the novel for me was Tom. M-o-o-n that spells Tom. This partially retarded but loveable character makes this novel one of my favorites. You will know what I mean if you listen to the novel.
Any additional comments?
Overall I would say that this a novel that would appeal to just about any audience. Like I mentioned earlier, this novel isn't as dark as some of his other pieces of literature which puts the focus more on the story developement. Yes there are scenes that are bloody or violent, but not to the degree of grotesqueness that permeates his other works. This novel is one of those social experiment novels that asks the reader (and the author) what would happen is the world went to hell? How would people react? Who would survive? What would motivate them? The answers to these questions and more are in this novel. Give it a listen, you won't be disappointed.

Brilliant writer
Revisado: 06-28-11
Brandon Sanderson has proven to me that he is an excellent writer. This series has brought me hours of enjoyment. The characters in this series are probably the best I have read. Brandon is completely true to his characters from beginning to end. This means everything they do and feel and think is completely immersive and believable.
The plot is of epic proportions and yet still feels very personal to the reader/listener. Some things you may guess at and be right, but I guarentee you won't see many of the plot twists. I really cannot begin to tell you how happy I am with the world building he has done in this series also. Epic! need I say more?
One of the best overall writers of this decade I would say. Bravo Mr. Sanderson your hard work and attention to detail make this series one of my all time favorite. Although some may think the series long soon you will never want it to end.

Revisado: 01-30-11
I'm not sure what all the fuss is over this book. The plot was interesting, but nothing great. Its interesting its called the girl with the dragon tattoo because she is at most in only half the book. What we do learn about her is very little and quite frankly uninteresting. I will say I enjoyed the mystery aspect and Mikael's investigation. There were just so many other unimportant parts the novel got really boring and I seriously considered stopping it. I had to get it to see what all the hype was about and I suggest skipping this one unless you really want to be let down by this serial killer/sex/mystery novel.

Young Adult book for ADULTS!
Revisado: 09-11-10
The book was surprisingly good. I liked the idea of the hunger games. The game which is brutal in nature is tactfully written. The main character is likable and talented. The only aspect I didn't like is it seemed like the author didn't really describe what the rules of the game were until the "rule" came into play. It was like, oh yeah, by the way this is like this. And sometimes it is in the main characters favor and sometimes not. I just don't like it when it appears the author makes up the rules as they go. Like the jacker bees or whatever they are called. It was like, "oh yeah by the way there are these bees that kill and happen to be right here where I need them" That being said there are some good scenes of action and suspense. I wish she drew out some of the action scenes more and I would have liked more description when she wrote the final battle. Other than those few gripes the book was good. I like her world setting. I would like to see an antagonist be a person for the protagonist and not just ideology of big brother, but thats just me. Overall I highly recommend.
