Didn’t like that they switched reading actors

Didn’t like that they switched up the narrators in the middle of the series. It’s nothing against Christopher and Jessica, they are great narrators and I think they are a great team. But after listing to the series with Lewis and Roslyn it just sounded off. I’ll get used to it and Christopher and Jessica will do a great job picking up the series.

Don’t buy! Your only get half the book!

You’re getting cheated out of half the book. The author broke the book into two parts. You get 13 chapters in this audio book. If you download and read the book you get all 26 chapters. The author is cheating everybody and is charging you twice to get one whole book. Total B.S.

The ending fight killed the whole book, and not in a good way.

Let's start on a positive note by saying the book was well written and the characters are well developed, and the story line is really good. But when the writer wants a fairytale ending to the book, it just doesn't work for me.
The only thing missing from this book is " They lived happily ever after" at the end of this book. Because that's what it was, a Disney store with no consequences. Everything came out perfect in the end for the MC who didn't lose anything because of the way the writer wrote the last boss fight, If your going to kill off two different people with the same irreversible death spell and then they miraculous bring them both back to life in the same book is just total B.S. . Once you can get a way with it, the second time is just a cheap parlor trick that is saying that the MC can do anything stupid, and at that point the book is ruined for me. At that point I would rather see the bad guy win and the MC dead.

The Main Character is such a cowardly whiner

I don't think I've ever wanted the MC killed off in series before, and for someone else to replace him. The story starts out with this college kid Dan who is a dreamer, and coward who has no motivation to fix his life. He dreams and wishes he had the muscles and charisma to get the girl and be the hero, but instead of doing something about it he just plays D&D with his friends and fantasizes about a different life and complains about how life is unfair for people like him. Low and behold Dan get his wish literally, by a genie who grants him one wish for freeing him, and he becomes Dan the barbarian. As a barbarian he goes through his new life thinking how powerful and tough he is, and how he can do any or beat anybody in battle. Of course he does something stupid and gets sent back to his own reality and instead of learning something from his experience he just complains and whines about how unfair it is that he is back in his old life and cries about a life he didn't earn or deserve, and of course he gets to go back for another chance. The book would be really good if Dan wasn't in it, all the other characters are good and story was well told but Dan has to go. The writer was right about one thing though, and that is the MC is Danielle and will always be that.

It's pretty hard to get into a book when you know all the good guys are going to survive know matter what they do or how bad they screw up; and the worst part is the writer can tell a good story. There are no big plot twists just good vs evil, with evil always losing and good coming out with no casualties. Very disappointing...

You could take Everson to Vegas with all luck he had in this book and win big! Waking into trouble blindly and always having somebody show up to bail him out of it. Other then that little irritation the book was well write and the story was good. Just hoping the series doesn't go Disney on us.

I picked this book up on a whim and I'm glad I did, the only bad thing is that have to wait until the second book comes out on audio book.
