Wendy Wax writes another wonderful book about women dealing with life's complications with humor and friendship. The performers were excellent! the editing, however, had some problems. There were several times when lines repeated with different readings (like the artist was testing out different ways to read a line, and the editing didn't cut one of them), but the moment that gave me a chuckle was at about 7 hours, 30 minutes, when the artist reads dialogue in one voice, says something like "oh wait, she's still talking" and then reads it again in another voice.

The editing quirks were not enough to take away from the book, though, which is worth a listen.

I'm generally a Krentz fan, but this narrator sucked the life of of this story. she just didn't have the vocal range to handle the male characters.

I fell in love with dinosaurs when I was in elementary school. This is the grown-up book for that childhood fascination! Brusatte does an amazing job of connecting important ideas to build the story of the evolutionary arc of the dinosaurs. Lawlor makes the book even more accessible with a great reading. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed Tracy Brogan's My Kind Of You and thought I'd give this one a try. The story is...okay...a little trapped in 1960s cliches, but the audiobook narration just killed it for me. The main character's inner monologue was solid, but the other voices were terrible. when I got to what sounded like an American pretending to be an Irishman pretending to be I Scot, I hit stop. This just wasn't going to work...especially for a romance.

A dark and moody West Coast Gothic novel that is a good fit for Shirley Jackson fans. Secrets, money, and awkward family relationships fill a tainted house in Oregon. Zeller delivers a terrific performance. #AmericanGothic #FamilySecrets #WestCoast #Tagsgiving #Sweepstakes

I love the Ten Beach Road series, and Wendy Wax did not disappoint with this latest installment. I'm not sure if it's the finale, but this book, which is as strong as the first book in the series, closes several story arcs and takes the amazing women of Ten Beach Road to new beginnings. Amy Rubinate gives another terrific performance, too.

After seeing CARROTS mentioned in an Audible e-mail, I decided to take a chance on this one, and I'm glad I did. Colleen Helme wrote a light and fun story with a great narrator, and Wendy Tremont King does a nice job of bringing it to life. Totally the kind of book you need after reading something dark and heavy.

Too sadistic for me, but the narrator was great

I've been on a quest for good spooky stories, and this one popped up on a Goodreads list. Unfortunately, it's not a spooky story, it's a sadistic one, and I just couldn't get through it (or the idiocy of the hero and heroine, for that matter). I stuck it out a lot longer than I normally would have because I truly loved Gary Tiedemann's narration. It was almost hard to believe one person performed all of those voices. This author definitely isn't for me, but I'll keep an eye out for the narrator.

I enjoyed Packard's LOVE IN THE AFTERNOON and decided to give the next book in the series a try. The book stands alone very well, with great characters with complicated lives. Funny and well-paced, the book flies by. Packard's characters are easy to like. Pfitsch is the perfect narrator for this book, delivering a snappy performance that perfectly matches the book.

I originally bought this title because I was looking for a funny romance. Humor is pretty subjective, but I didn't feel like this book was especially light or funny. Talk Dirty to Me is an emotional story about two people who were once engaged, who are brought back to the same town after their mutual childhood friend died. Our heroine is trying to rebuild a life she destroyed herself after years of meanness and bad decisions; our hero is trying to make sense of the woman who left him long ago. The writing is solid and the narrator does a great job and it's totally worth reading, but it is a serious book with a few amusing moments, not a comedy.
