Historia
There’s no doubt that our world has gotten more extreme. Pandemics, climate change, superpower rivalries, cyberattacks, political radicalization—virtually, everywhere we look there is mayhem bearing down on us, putting trillions of assets at risk. And at least two factions have formed around how to respond. In Chaos Kings, Scott Patterson depicts how one faction, led by Nassim Nicholas Taleb, bestselling author of The Black Swan, believes humans can never see the big disaster coming.

Historia
For a quarter-century, from the end of Watergate to the aftermath of the Cold War, no Republican won the presidency without his help or ran the White House without his advice. James Addison Baker III was the indispensable man for four presidents because he understood better than anyone how to make Washington work at a time when America was shaping events around the world. The Man Who Ran Washington is a pause-resisting portrait of a power broker who influenced America's destiny for generations.

Historia
Jared Kushner was one of the most consequential presidential advisers in modern history. For the first time, he recounts what happened behind closed doors during the Trump presidency. Few White House advisors have had such an expansive portfolio or constant access to the president. From his office next to Trump, senior adviser Jared Kushner operated quietly behind the scenes, preferring to leave the turf wars and television sparring to others.

Constructive Criticism
Revisado: 08-30-22
In chapter 48 “Economic Collapse”, Jared never mentions the Treasury Secretary or the Fed Chairman or the people at both of those organizations and their efforts during that time. In Chapter 9, stating he couldn’t find people to work in the administration, that was total BS there were plenty of people that wanted to help. They choose to go with a “light staff” thinking they would save money but it didn’t. They ended up with junior Obama holdovers who hated Trump and were thrilled to cause problems if and when they could. Some constrictive criticism, the Trump Administration was just cocky in the first two years about running the government. They learned a lesson the hard way. Historia
By February 2020, the U.S. economic expansion had become the longest on record. Unemployment was plumbing half-century lows. Stock markets soared to new highs. One month later, the public health battle against a deadly virus had pushed the economy into the equivalent of a medically induced coma. America’s workplaces—offices, shops, malls, and factories—shuttered.

Good Account
Revisado: 08-01-22
I enjoyed this book. The author is right basically saying the Federal Reserve did most of the work in this crisis. The understaffing of Treasury between 2017-2020 was a mistake. The Treasury’s reason for understaffing or “light staff” as they put it, was to save money but it didn’t save any real money and just increased the risk for Treasury.

As a highly respected pollster for corporate and Republican clients and a frequent television talk show guest, Kellyanne Conway had already established herself as one of the brightest lights on the national political scene when Donald Trump asked her to run his presidential campaign. She agreed, delivering him to the White House, becoming the first woman in American history to manage a winning presidential campaign. Who she is, how she did it, and who tried to stop her is a fascinating story of personal triumph and political intrigue that has never been told…until now.

Historia
In the summer of 2020, America was under siege by radical antifa actors across the country. But if you were only reading mainstream headlines, you probably have no idea just how bad it really was. As homes and businesses were being burned to the ground and livelihoods were being destroyed, corporate media engaged in a full-scale attempt to gaslight the American people, pushing Orwellian narratives about the violent riots by mislabeling them as peaceful, democratic demonstrations, all seemingly to bolster their biased political views.

Historia
William Barr’s first tenure as attorney general under President George H.W. Bush was largely the result of chance, while his second tenure under President Donald Trump a deliberate and difficult choice. In this candid memoir, Barr takes listeners behind the scenes during seminal moments of the 1990s, from the LA riots to Pan Am 103 and Iran Contra. Thirty years later, Barr faced an unrelenting barrage of issues, such as Russiagate, the COVID outbreak, civil unrest, the impeachments, and the 2020 election fallout.

Historia
Stephanie Grisham rose from being a junior press wrangler on the Trump campaign in 2016 to assuming top positions in the administration as White House press secretary and communications director, while at the same time acting as First Lady Melania Trump’s communications director and eventually chief of staff. Few members of the Trump inner circle served longer or were as close to the first family as Stephanie Grisham, and few had her unique insight into the turbulent four years of the administration, especially the personalities behind the headlines.

Interesting Read
Revisado: 01-26-22
Most of this book I agree with and it tells a good story.
1. I will disagree with her discussion in Chapter 2 about staffing up the administration. The administration went with a “light staff” model with the idea of saving money and doing things differently. The “light staff” model just kept junior Obama and Obama like staffers around to cause problems it was a mistake. The result was no money was saved and Trump agenda was slowed down. Republican Administrations need to staff up HUGE in the BEGINNING to get their agenda through. Most of the Federal Government are Democrats, it is what it is. The Trump Administration in the first 3 years was genuinely surprised by the level of hate against them. As Reagan said "Personnel is Policy."
2. I also disagree with her view of the January 6th committee. I think that the committee should also include the violence and vandalism at the White House in the summer 2020. As a country, we need to find a way to disagree WITHOUT going to violence or vandalism. Also we need to go back to partisan media similar to the founding of the country. It's the only solution and in many respects we are already there.
3. I hope Stephanie finds peace and success in her next chapter! I liked her quotes at the beginning of the chapters to set the stage and overall I think she did a great job!
