Any adaptation of a beloved work will have it's weaknesses and merit. I have listened and enjoyed each audio drama.

Normally, I dive into a Jonathan Maberry story and love it. The Pine Deep series is a good one, so I thought this would be a good addition and visit with the characters and town.

But this book did not grab me. It has taken me since November to get past the slow beginning and feel at all interested in the story. By the time I began to care, the whole thing came to what felt like an abrupt end

The concept was good and though it took awhile I began to care about Monk and Patty. But I felt like the additional plotlines and characters were overdone and way to much time spent on the Interludes with the bad guy.

The narrator, Ray Porter, is outstanding and carried the story and I believe made it possible for me to want to know more about Monk, Patty, and even Diana and Gail (though their stories felt superfluous to the overall plot).

I cannot give this a glowing review but it has good moments that made the character development interesting. It just seems like Maberry bit off a few more threads than he could develop with any cohesive narrative and then had to find an easy out to get it done.

A sad and difficult series to listen to. I was a huge fan of Casey Kasem and he deserves so much better. I hope Kerri prevails in returning her father's remains to the United States. And I am grateful for her advocacy work.

Very interesting story with characters brought to life by Zachary Quinto. This is one of those stories I wish had been longer.

This story is not your typical horror and for me took more than halfway through to capture my interest. Thanks to the excellent performance of R.C. Bray, I stuck it out to an interesting end.

High quality production with excellent actors (and it was especially fun to hear Pearl Mackie voicing a character). Recommended.

Stories of Elders is a fascinating study of how advances in technology have had both positive and negative effects on our culture as seen through the eyes of those born before most of that tech was even conceived. Conducted by anthropologist Veronica Kirin, the study is based on a series of interviews of people from what's known as "the Greatest Generation."

The narration is a little stilted and the editing is not always the best (and I'm saying this as a friend of the author). However, the book is worth listening to for the stories and insights offered by a generation of people who've seen the fast and furious changes of the last one hundred years.

Highly recommended.
