A bit different. Good though! Looking forward to book 3! As per usual, lots of foreshadowing of current and imminent events. Take heed, all of this is happening in our own real life slow burn.

Tim narrates himself? Yes. No one else could.

At first I was turned off by Tim narrating himself. I pre-ordered the book in print, but wasn't in the right headspace to read it so I waited. It took time for me to prepare for this book, I knew small bits of Tim's life, chewed some similar stuff. I was right, my wife joined me. I listened straight through, and it affected me exactly how I knew it would. I'm so proud to be in the same universe as Tim, and many of the people in this book. No one else could have narrated this. Tim isn't a narrator, but this audio book would simply not be the same by any other. Thank you Nick, thank you Tim, you both make me very proud and profoundly sad at the same time. The fight isn't over, and the lessons learned from not being able to save everyone and not able to do what needs to be done at home and abroad...are brutal. Thank you for telling it. I wish I could share this book with family, give a glimpse of a world they don't understand, but honestly I don't think civilians and non-combat veterans can ever really understand this book.

I hated this book, because it is so very plausible, and hits hard. So many people in our nation live with heads in the sand or in a bubble. They'll probably never read or listen to this book.

Bummer the narrator pronounced so many names and places so poorly. Love the story and am excited for the next one!

Neither my wife or myself could understand the narrator. The syncopation and emphasis of words as the narrator reads is awkward and difficult to understand. We finally gave up and deleted the book. Honestly, I feel ripped off and want my money back.
