Historia
Once, Jackson Rook was a war hero. Raised from boyhood to pilot an exosuit mech, he’d fought gallantly for the rebellion against the Collectivists. But that was a long time ago, on a world very far away. Now, Jackson Rook is a criminal, a smuggler on board the Multipurpose Supply Vehicle Tar Heel. His latest mission: steal a top-of-the-line mech called the Citadel and deliver it to the far-flung planet Swindle, a world so hostile even the air will kill you. The client: a man known only as the Warlord.

Couldn’t get into it — hard to listen to.
Revisado: 12-05-24
The plot didn’t move in the first two hours and the excessive inflection of the voice actor at the end of each sentence got painful to listen it.

Historia
A vast and largely unseen transformation of how war is fought as profound as the invention of gunpowder or advent of the nuclear age is occurring. Flying cars that can land like helicopters, artificial intelligence-powered drones that can fly into buildings and map their interiors, microsatellites that can see through clouds and monitor rogue missile sites—all these and more are becoming part of America’s DIU-fast-tracked arsenal. Until recently, the Pentagon was known for its uncomfortable relationship with Silicon Valley and for slow-moving processes that acted as a brake on innovation.

Chapter 7 was awful, but book is still worth reading
Revisado: 10-10-24
Good history of DIU, even if self-congratulatory. Chapter 7 was absolutely awful — would highly recommend skipping in its entirety as it was a weird misleading political screed amidst otherwise good analysis/storytelling.

Historia
Acclaimed presidential historian Tevi Troy takes listeners on a riveting journey through the biggest battles between CEOs and the nation’s commander in chief. He unearths the untold stories—both political and personal—that have shaped America. The Power and the Money shows how some of the nation’s most important CEOs forged (and fumbled) relationships with the president, revealing an intricate web of power, where CEOs need presidents, and presidents need CEOs. Troy shows how each must step carefully—or risk unpredictable costs and collateral damage.

Interesting idea, poor execution
Revisado: 09-30-24
Wonderful idea but I think the author went too broad in historical scope. Just feels like a single anecdote per CEO. no real depth or new insights .

Writing got bad!!!
Revisado: 06-12-22
Was my favorite series in a very long time, but the writing quickly deteriorated to the point of “too painful to read.” Reckon that others were involved in writing, which is a shame. Don’t think I’ll read Sanderson again. Was my favorite author until this.

Top notch science fiction

Started off a teeny bit slow, but I was hooked by about the 30 minute mark. The story is fast-paced, original, and extremely well-executed. And the narration could not be better.

Liked it initially, but couldn't finish it..
Revisado: 09-01-18
The writing is decent, but the storyline has a lot of "filler" material with extended "training" sessions and other vignettes of little import to either the storyline or character development. Reckon it would have been better at half the length. Ran out of juice somewhere around Chapter 37 after about 10-12 chapters that just dragged. Would not recommend reading/downloading,.
