Historia
Divorce is the intersection of everything we hold dear in life: love, sex, money, and children. When those are threatened, people get angry. Logical and reasoned decision-making spirals into power plays and finger-pointing and potentially open warfare. Without a clear head, divorce is a lose-lose for everyone except the lawyers. It doesn't have to be that way. Family law attorney Raiford Palmer has helped clients find a faster, more peaceful, less costly alternative to "World War III" divorce cases.

Best guide when facing divorce in the US
Revisado: 12-09-22
If you are contemplating divorce or are in the process of divorcing, you should read this book. If you are a divorce lawyer this book will only increase your knowledge.
Before I read this book I interviewed 7 divorce lawyers and hired one. None of them have ever had a client with all of the law issues my divorce presents. They all dealt with all of my issues before, just not all in one case.
My lawyer's assistant, a lawyer herself, came to court with me to a hearing. It did not go well. Chapter 4 in this book, How to Choose the Right Divorce Lawyer opened my eyes wide. I spoke with my lawyer and his lawyer assistant and asked some of questions listed in the chapter. I did not get specific answers.
I reached out to Raifords D Palmer, the author, even though I don't live in the state he practices. He replied right away with a referral. I interviewed the lawyer he referred to me and I believe she would be the best to represent my interest and fight for my rights. Thank you Mr Palmer.
I also read the book Mr Palmer recommends in his book, "Splitting" by Bill Eddy, which is the best advice and guide when divorcing a difficult character, a narcissist or a sociopath. A must read if you are divorcing one of those gems.
Good luck.

Historia
Trauma and Recovery is revered as the seminal text on understanding trauma survivors. By placing individual experience in a broader political frame, Harvard psychiatrist Judith Herman argues that psychological trauma is inseparable from its social and political context. Drawing on her own research on incest, as well as a vast literature on combat veterans and victims of political terror, she shows surprising parallels between private horrors like child abuse and public horrors like war.

Knowledge is power. When you know why you do what you do, or why you can't organize your house, your schedule, and why you respond or react the way you do; you can seek the help you need. Trauma blurs memories, and changes the way our brain reacts to anything, in a bad way. This is a must read if you want to understand yourself or others. Thank you Dr. Herman.

We call it domestic violence. We call it private violence. Sometimes we call it intimate terrorism. But whatever we call it, we generally do not believe it has anything at all to do with us, despite the World Health Organization deeming it a 'global epidemic'. In No Visible Bruises, journalist Rachel Louise Snyder gives context for what we don't know we're seeing. She frames this urgent and immersive account of the scale of domestic violence in our country around key stories that explode the common myths....

Revisado: 12-16-21
We have so much to learn about domestic violence and should not feel shame to call it intimate terrorism. There is so much in this book I didn't know, did not expect it to be and never thought I endured it. Thank you Rachel Louise Snyder, your work is ultra outstanding and your performance is marvelous. I felt your pain in my heart, on every word. Your book has changed me. Thank you.

Historia
The emotional trauma we suffer as children not only shapes our emotional lives as adults but also affects our physical health and overall well-being. Scientists now know on a biochemical level exactly how parents' chronic fights, divorce, death in the family, being bullied or hazed, and growing up with a hypercritical, alcoholic, or mentally ill parent can leave permanent, physical "fingerprints" on our brains.

Perhaps your life today is what you aimed for. Perhaps you are in route to the life you set yourself to. Perhaps you got lost on the way, or you never aimed to anything specific. Perhaps you have just survived, living the life you got. Perhaps no one ever ask you what your goal in life was, or is, or after you achieved your goal you got stuck and it's no longer fun or a challange. If neither of these cases apply to you congratulations, I so wish I was you. Still, this book is inspiring, motivational, and it shook my already rocky uneven ground. I found myself writing goals, analyzing my past mistakes, the opportunities I want to look for, and describing my own self, to myself. How fun is that? I have seen this self before, in college when I was full of goals and dreams. Now I know how to unstuck myself and keep going, and this time I now I am aiming at fulfilling fun life. I loved this book!

Historia
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

Culturally different, and yet so much alike.
Revisado: 01-13-21
Even though the world I grew up in is very different than the world Matthew Mcconaughey grew up, his family stories, his goals, his dreams and findings himself feel very familiar. Feel real. For months I hesitated getting this book because he is a star in many levels and platforms and I assumed it was a gosh written book. One day while walking my dogs and listening to podcasts I came accross his interview with Jordan Peterson, and that is the biggest and most significant referral this book has, in my opinion. I was 20 minutes in, listening the interview, when I decided to purchase it right then and there, with my dogs pulling my fingers away from the screen. That was 3 days ago and I finished this book. Enjoy it!

This book is ignorant
Revisado: 12-07-20
I am shocked that an author this popular and successful would write a book about a topic she knows so little. Writer lacks basic knowledge of Mexican and Honduran culture, language and lingo. Her poor understanding of her own country's immigration law and procedures is embarrassing. I read this book because it was selected in my book club, and well, at least now I know how bad it is.

Historia
Deep in the heart of the Congo a small baby is adopted by Kala, a fierce anthropoid ape of the tribe of Kerchak. Here, protected by his savage foster mother, Tarzan (for so she named him) learned the secrets of jungle life - how to talk with all animals, how to move like a shadow, how to swing freely through the teeming forest, how to fight barehanded the great carnivores. Here he acquired the strength and agility of his guardian apes, and the same keen sense of smell and sound that all wild creatures need to protect themselves.

Late Victorian London. When James Miller, the most respectable of Scottish businessmen, is pulled, dead, from the Thames, his daughter is drawn into an investigation which reveals a whole world of secrets and corruption. Alongside local detective Culley, Catriona’s search for her father’s killer leads all the way to the tragic truth behind the ghostly legend of The Darkwater Bride and the power of her deadly kiss. The Darkwater Bride combines the genres of the Victorian mystery thriller with the equally classic Victorian mode of the ghostly tale.
