Historia
Gorm Ingerson knows the king is a fink. With the land’s insidious ruler hell-bent on his destruction, the axe-wielding Dwarf berserker is desperate to beat him to the punch. But when he discovers the rotten regent’s claim of a town razed by the world’s richest dragon is false, the gruff adventurer fears there’s more than a personal grudge at stake.

Thrilling
Revisado: 09-19-24
I was hooked on this story from the moment I picked up the first book. I didn't know what to expect going into this last part of the trilogy, and I certainly didn't know what was going to happen next every step of the way. But it was so much fun, so entertaining, and brilliantly written. It has all of the things I need in a story: villains, heroes, injustices being righted, commentary on society, mysteries unraveled, and numerous hilarious moments.
This series will forever hold a place in my heart, and will always be the first series I recommend to anyone who asks "What should I read next?"

Historia
Miryem is the daughter and granddaughter of moneylenders, but her father's inability to collect his debts has left his family on the edge of poverty - until Miryem takes matters into her own hands. Hardening her heart, the young woman sets out to claim what is owed and soon gains a reputation for being able to turn silver into gold. When an ill-advised boast draws the attention of the king of the Staryk - grim fey creatures who seem more ice than flesh - Miryem's fate, and that of two kingdoms, will be forever altered.

A journey
Revisado: 01-13-24
This was a trip. From beginning to end I had NO idea what was going to happen next. I enjoyed it immensely. Mostly, I enjoyed that the women characters were strong in the way that women are. They didn't pull out swords and become warriors, but instead they fought by cunning, strength of will, and courage.
Most of the stories I've read that involve fae in any way make them over sexualized and deplorable, but in this story they were scary and magical and had a different culture, but were still people that had to learn and grow like everybody else.
I highly recommend this story.

Historia
For generations, nobles have gathered at a scenic estate once per year to compete. What transpires there is spoken of only in rumors, save for the prizes. Potent, powerful, and precious; the winners are said to receive a gift from magic itself. Reeling after their loss to Kalzidar, the adventurers from Maplebark can only press forward, following advice imparted by the gods. Their divine directions will lead them on a series of twisting paths, branching between old friends and new challenges, before ultimately pointing at a particular estate on a specific evening.

Still a thrilling and enjoyable read. There are some aspects to the writing style and character development that aren't my favorite, but I still listen with all my attention. I'm looking forward to the next book.

Historia
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

a fantastic adventure
Revisado: 01-07-22
This story was a lot of fun. It's a grand adventure set in an rpg world with some very interesting mechanics. It's well written and entertaining with well made characters. I think the only issue I had was the main character. I think he's supposed to come across as a pain in the butt, and he can be annoying, but my problem is that things seem to work out too well for him anyway. He always has the moral high ground, always confuses his enemies to the point that he gets the advantage. Still, it's a wonderful story that is worth the read.

Absolutely wonderful
Revisado: 04-30-21
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I have to admit, I'm not normally a fan of beauty and the beast stories, but this one did an excellent job of using it in a new way. I found the characters likeable and interesting and I loved watching them fall in love and see deeper into their thoughts and motivations. Honestly the only thing I didn't like was that there wasn't more to the story. I'd like to get to know the side characters more and see more the world. But I guess I'll get that when I read the next book!

Historia
Professional heroes kill and loot deadly monsters every day, but Gorm Ingerson's latest quest will be anything but business as usual. The adventuring industry drives the economy of Arth, a world much like our own but with more magic and fewer vowels. Monsters' hoards are claimed, bought by corporate interests, and sold off to plunder funds long before the Heroes' Guild actually kills the beasts. That's a terrible arrangement for the Shadowkin; orcs, goblins, kobolds, and their ilk must apply for to become Noncombatant Paper Carriers to avoid being killed and looted by heroes.

The story is fun and entertaining. I love RPG books, and this one is now one of my favorites. It's a different spin on the world of adventuring, one that shows the darker and crueler sides of society like greed and racism. I highly recommend it.
