Historia
With their supplies reclaimed and food enough for the future, the group at Barry's cabin can do more than just scrape by. Between fruitful gardens, great friends, and sturdy fences—not to mention karaoke—life in the zompoc is better than ever. Nothing is perfect, however. Across the country, safe zones are mysteriously going dark, and Oregon's summer weather has turned the forest into a tinderbox. As the unknown danger closes in and smoke begins to fill the sky, the survivors are all too aware of how quickly plans unravel, fences fall, and luck runs out.

New fave zombie series
Revisado: 04-01-25
So many things happening, typically by the middle of a series things start getting stale and recycled but every new twist and turn is new and fresh. This book was all the love and all the tears

Historia
With their Safe Zone overrun by the undead, taking refuge in the mountains seems like the safest bet for Rose, Tom, and the other survivors. There's one catch, however—between last spring's human exodus and a neighboring group's stockpiles, there's no food left to scavenge. They know to be wary of people and zombies, but a new adversary proves itself just as relentless—hunger. Supplies are slim in the wilderness, and living off the land is easier said than done. As winter sets in, and their food dwindles to nothing, they discover how far they'll go to save the ones they love.

Haven’t sobbed in a while? This will get you there
Revisado: 03-17-25
This found family has become my family. This is the queen bee of the found family trope plus zombies plus beyond incredible MCs. I miss it already and it hasn’t even been a full minute since it ended. Chef’s freaking kiss, muah!
What didn’t I love? None of it, it gripped me, kept me listening well after I should have been asleep and kept me so beyond invested that my own family had to remind me not to miss family dinner. Beautiful narration, catchy story and relatable MCs, what more could you ask for?

Historia
Whether romantic or platonic, changing relationships prove tricky for Rose, Tom, Clara, and Craig—never mind adapting to the new not-so-normal. Being surrounded by the undead is bad enough, but with a tyrant-in-training running their Safe Zone, it’s that much worse.

Rose Winter has enough problems. With a marriage going down the tubes and a dreaded anniversary party on the horizon, the last thing she needs is the zombie apocalypse. She wanted to get drunk and sing karaoke, not murder her undead neighbors. It’s clear the party’s over, however, now Rose has more problems - a missing husband, an overbearing houseguest, and keeping her family alive.

So many dynamic and interesting characters
Revisado: 03-06-25
I loved the relationships, the way the characters grew together and it was all so lovely but then in the background is the world falling apart and it was great watching them handle it differently. Each character was strong enough to have their own book but the way the POVs are spread across this book was handled so well and always interesting.
Really great foundation for what I hope this series becomes. I didn’t laugh or cry but I smiled, felt annoyance and commiserated.

Historia
As Michael Talbot and crew hit the last stretch before the US border, they are struck by the most devastating losses thus far on their journey. After trekking some of the harshest environment on the continent, surviving the shipwreck of their floating home, an escape from a brutal military that still pursues them, and attacks from every ilk of undead monster, the finish line is finally just up ahead. Making better time on the road than they ever have, the crew are menaced by the most ironic of enemies, led by an evil presence that has yet to reveal its motives.

Master of wait what
Revisado: 11-27-24
This right here is why I love to reread or re-listen! I’m slightly confused, I’m questioning everything and I’m dying for more! 24 books and it’s still not enough.
Is Sean Runnette mispronouncing more words these last few books than usual? Or is it a regional pronunciation thing maybe? It jars me a bit out of the book every time he mispronounces a word .
I love the breaking of the 4th wall, the juvenile comedy and the plot development. I used The Office and Mark Tufo series to get through a difficult time and seeing them blended together is giving me all the warm and gooies

Historia
Cassie Forrest isn't surprised to learn that the day she’s decided to get her life together is also the day the world ends. After all, she’s been on a self-imposed losing streak since her survivalist parents died: she’s stopped painting, broken off her engagement to Adrian and dated a real jerk. Rectifying her mistakes has to wait, however, because Cassie and her friends have just enough time to escape Brooklyn for her parents’ cabin before Bornavirus LX turns them into zombies, too.

Really well thought out story and characters
Revisado: 10-22-24
Loved the character development, loved hating Anna and Peter and loved falling for Nelly, John and Penny. The explanations for their changed lifestyles and watching them overcome obstacles in such realistic and believable ways was such a fun way to dive into the end of their world.

Historia
The man they took prisoner was not the Jonathan Tibbs they remembered. He said that time was running out. That the world faced an enemy it could not defeat. He said everything depended on whether or not they could make a leap of faith. Then, he asked them for five nuclear warheads. The Never Army is the final installment in The Chronicles of Jonathan Tibbs - a mind-bending, genre-crossing, multiple award-winning, action-adventure trilogy.

Long but worth it
Revisado: 10-14-24
The story has so many puzzle pieces that draw you in and ultimately, all your questions are answered but you’re never able to see what’s coming. I laughed, cried, and was mad at the author. I’ve since forgiven him and can’t wait to read whatever is next.
It was a long journey and worth every second of it. 30 hours is Long for an audio book for me. I have many DNF audiobooks because they are so long and at some point they lost me. The Never Army never lost me. The character development was perfect, the scenes vivid and the pace was good to keep you engaged and interested. I loved the characters, even the new ones. The humor and intensity of the situation draws you in and keeps you unraveling the mysteries of the “time travel” and what happened in the Never. I don’t know why but I kept getting Dragon Ball Z vibes- maybe the super powers, fight scenes and the transformations. There were also Super strong monkey like super saiyans so if you grew up with Goku and crew you might see what I mean and hopefully enjoy it just as much.

Invested and intrigued
Revisado: 10-10-24
When a book can bring on the waterworks, it’s a 5 for me. The characters have been well fleshed out by this point and it’s hard not to enjoy each of them and what they bring to the storyline. I especially appreciate the parallels between the Bible comics anti-Christ/savior and Jonathon/Grant dynamic.
The multiple POVs are handled very well and give you almost a side story/novella vibe that enhances the original story and plot.
The writing is descriptive enough to imagine the scenes vividly without being overly detailed and losing me.
The first book took a while to get through and was much easier to put down, this one was not. I flew through it within a few days and quickly became more and more invested and intrigued by Jonathon and his new “friend.”
The performer has a hard time with female voices, to the point that it is distracting. The enchanting accent he is supposed to convey it’s hard on the ears which is unfortunate. Otherwise, I have not a hard time with him portraying any of the male characters.

Revisado: 08-25-24
Unfortunately not a very satisfying ending. The book itself is ok, it’s a ok sequel to the first but it needed a bit more substance to be a good book. Again, I’d say this was just ok.
Regarding the performer, the lack of accents threw me a bit- hearing “ciao” and everything else that’s a foreign language with the same accent as everyone else was jarring. Not everyone can do a decent accent but it would have been a 5* performance with it.

So funny that my husband made fun of my startled laugh.
Mike goes on a journey as he always does but this time the beings he’s surrounded by are mystical and mostly magical. Interesting storyline that feels fresh but with the comfort of old friends.
At one point it has the feels of The Iron Druid by Kevin Hearne but with Tufos unique story telling, horror elements and humor
