The characters sounded like they were from sesame street and there was a little of dragging dialog from the main character and unnecessary drama.

Excellent story idea and great character range and development.

Excellent story idea and great character range and development. Loose ends were closed and a slight surprise to the ending. What surprised me the most is how the protagonist seemed like such a chauvanistice duche bag in the first books and his personality actually improved over the timeliness of the story. Great series!

This was probably the best book so far. I like how the characters have developed during the story with all of their quirks and qualities. really looking forward to the next book.

Anither win for team Zogarth/Baldree!

The story continues entertain, the narration rocks and while it's a 20 hour listen, it seems over before I'm ready. Luckily, I know the next audiobook in the series will be as great as well, if not better due to the culmination of events that have been brewing for a while.

I don't know if there is a group of people out there that enjoy hearing numbers read to them over and over and over but I'm not one of them. I listen and pay for a great story and narration. While this series has both (which is why I suffer through the bombardment of stat reading) it causes me to avoid any audiobook titled Lit RPG. I will continue listening to this story and a couple others to find out where the characters go and the fate of the world (plus Travis's awesome narration) but this mountain of redundant stat reading will go the way of disco.

Engaging and detailed storytelling

Ahhh... another Peter F. Hamilton creation. Loved it! Great character arcs, setting and continuity that completely immerses the reader into the story. John Lee's excellent and dynamic narration is icing on the cake.

This book had such potential

Such potential! But you have to endure the most stupid, selfish and lazy protagonist I think I've ever read. The idea behind the book is fantastic, even movie worthy. However, the main character should have been gutted early in the book to save us from having to hear his incessant whining and watching his continual and story wrenching screwups throughout the book. I stayed with the audiobook hoping it would improve but that wasn't the case. I suppose if you're a 12yo with low expectations, you might like the story and the male to catman love references. But if youre looking for character development, realistic scenarios and characters, I would not suggest this audiobook. Positive note for the narrator who made this listen bearable. He's got a good and even storytelling voice and the only reason I rated this book more than one star.

The Divine Apostasy series continues to entertain and surprise! Great story and character development and fantastic Baldree narration! I'm looking forward to the 10th book.

The characters were stoopid.

The idea of the story was good but the characters were utterly stupid. If I relied upon these fools to save the world, I'd get my affairs in order, grab my butt and pray to Jesus cause it would be lights out world. It took SO many chapters to just decide if the elf was Jelly or Jolen. Jeez, luckily, it was a free listen. And you'd think people who had lived so long would have their act together but Nooooo! The braima of the operation relied upon a backwater town idiot.
