He was Gollum—as dark as darkness, except for two big round pale eyes in his thin face. He had a little boat, and he rowed about quite quietly on the lake; for lake it was, wide and deep and deadly cold.

This series just gets better and better

I’ve loved all of the Green Rider books and this one delivers once again. Hard to stop listening to it even though I wanted to save it and not rush through it. While I do agree with some reviews that it's probably time the romance storyline needs to move on, it's not the reason I am pulled to the books. The adventure, the tension, and expanding world are what pull me back time and again. Another great job by the narrator Ellen Archer, it wouldn’t be the same without her voice.

Firebrand one of my favorites of this series

Loved Firebrand! It had the feel of the first couple of books and reminded me why I fell in love with this series in the first place. I'm glad Ellen Archer is still narrating, keeping a consistent voice throughout the series has been a treat. As always the question is... when is the next book!!!???
