misleading title and longer than it needed to be
Revisado: 08-30-17
I decided for research purposes to read 5 books on potty training. Of all the books this one had a very misleading title because it's highly an accurate to say a child can be potty trained in 3 days. A child can be taught about the concept of going to the bathroom in 3 days probably but training means accident free. Additionally the book had a lot of fluff and could have been shorter so for a busy parent who is trying to gather some information this book was a little longer than it needed to be. The author at the end also has a pitch to get you to sign up to their website because they are a mother and daughter which is great but there is no expert advice or robust information in this it is mostly a process that somebody learned with them and their friends. other books that discuss how important it is to understand the temperament of your child and your own parenting style and personality are things that will help somebody potty-trained to the style of a child vs just picking one toilet style or another as this author suggests.

foundational Concepts and compelling arguments
Revisado: 06-22-17
as somebody that works with Elite athletes and coaches this book changed quite a few of my perspectives and filled in a few gaps in my logic. Of all of the books that I've ever read on human performance this says instantly risen to the top. definitely a lot of the details about how to individualize practice such that it can be deliberate are not gone into in this book but that is where a coach and instructor can take their style and these principles and implement it.

Historia
One afternoon - after another failed attempt to get motivated to exercise - I (accidentally) started my first mini habit. I initially committed to do one push-up, and it turned into a full workout. I was shocked. This "stupid idea" wasn't supposed to work. I was shocked again when my success with this strategy continued for months (and to this day). I had to consider that maybe I wasn't the problem in those 10 years of mediocre results. Maybe it was my prior strategies that were ineffective, despite being oft-repeated as "the way to change" in countless books.

wonderful approach - book could be shorter
Revisado: 01-24-17
great strategy to improved will power. started two mini habits and both have stuck. great concept and good support in research, book is cited well. I give it high rating for content however this book is very repetitive and could have been an 80 - 100 pager. I love reading nonfiction but feel I lit is a disservice to a readers time to make a book overly wordy.

good not great
Revisado: 11-02-16
this book had some promise from the intro and the premise but fell flat with some overly wordy explanations and highly Vivid but little substance in some of the recommendations. There are also quite a few fallacies within the book in terms of well known Human Performance and Behavioral Science but looking past that there are a few gems within the book that most people can resonate with and if they take action they will find a greater success than they currently have. the only part that was a little frustrating with the audiobook version of this was that the author would Breathe heavily into the microphone on certain words which would cause the speakers to pop in a audio system or in headphones which sometimes made it feel like there was a thumping happening somewhere in the room or car.

positive self-talk as the keys to success?
Revisado: 06-15-16
this book was twice as long as it needed to be and really focuses in on just having positive self-talk and thinking like a champion in order to perform Like A Champion. plenty of research shows that this is horribly incomplete and also not even a good approach. save your money and read something like Grit or one of that authors other books - dictated not read.
