Bad, bad, bad, editing.

We all should get a quarter for every single time the author uses the word “twitch” and a buck for every time she used the phrase “f———- adorable”. Then we would get our money back on this monstrosity. I have read many books by this author (back when she and her editor gave a f—- ) and the only good thing about this book is Fran’s excellent character transitions when she reads. Fran Jewel is the only reason I wasted a credit.
If you are picking this in anticipation of the sex chapter(s), you’ll have to wait until the end. My mouth is twitching to say, “So, so, so, NOT f-ing adorable.”

Nothing Earth Shattering

If the monarchy is offended by this book, then they are ridiculously concerned with their over-inflated egos. We all already knew about Harry’s mistakes of the past (recreational drugs, partying, poor choice of costumes, less than stellar grades, and dating history) so none of that historical data was Earth shattering. The book did leave the reader with a sense of shame for the advisors, reporters, turn-coats, and family members that put their own concerns ahead of the safety and unconditional acceptance and love for their own family/royal family.

I thought the writer did an excellent job. Harry did a fine job of narration. Overall it was a good listen but content-wise, it gives very little scandalous insights into the lives of Harry and the monarchy. It just emphasizes that even with all that has happened to the royal members (Andrew’s embarrassing interview regarding connections with underaged sex partners, Charles’ tampon fiasco, Fergie’s money problems, Diana’s eating disorders) there is always a public that wants to relish in bringing the rich and famous down.

If anything, the book renews America’s pride in Tyler Perry for stepping up and being a friend and Megan Markle’s resilience in handling a clear British prejudice towards an American bi-racial actress that would dare fall in love and marry a British royal.

If you are looking for ground-breaking gossip or new insights, pick up a British tabloid. It would be juicier than this book. (Might not be true but it would be more entertaining.). This book is just another exclamation point added to common knowledge.

Cute story, cute characters, great narration! Listened to it twice and it was free. (Thank you Audible.). Makes you wish every guy had Kennedy’s generous heart. It’s a happily ever after. 🥰

Cute ending to the series.

Entertaining and cute. Binge on all three books so that they make sense at the end. Scott Eastwood got better by book three - still needs a little practice though. Good for a listen when doing chores around the house.

Slick Banter That Will Make You Smile!

I live stories that have characters that make you forget the stress of the day and give you something g to laugh about. Touché to Tessa Dare. I got this book two days ago and have listened to it three times by now.

(I now have to go back to my High School Shakespeare class and figure out all the “intelligent” ways to curse! )

Absolutely LOVED the male narrator.

This was an entertaining book not only because of the writing but because the male narrator was so incredibly good. His line delivery was spot on and so smooth that the humor came through loud and clear. I was actually belly laughing as some of the lines!
I have no idea if the guy is actually British or not but he did an excellent accent. There are so many memorable one liners delivered with off-hand skill; you just can’t help but laugh. I found myself searching for more books read by this guy but the search engine didn’t cooperate with my request.

Enjoy the free book for what it is - an escape from reality and a few hours of just good old fashioned fun.

Icing on the cake!

I would have paid a credit for this one. Getting it free just put icing on the cake! Very good read/listen. Being a nurse just made me empathize with the ethical decisions the heroine had to deal with. Thanks Audible for giving us a good freebie!

Man of contradictions. Real or Fake?

Loved the selection of songs (especially the 4/5 country time tune), and the better known Roxanne, Message in a Bottle, Every Breath you Take. Married for 35 years but says that liking someone is better than loving someone. Raised Protestant/Catholic but comes out of it not believing in any kind of afterlife. Says he’s not arrogant but then praises his ability to write songs, sing and play the base at the same time. Says that later success in life is better than instant fame when it seems to the public that he had instant fame in not only music but as a familiar face in commercials and movies. Makes a couple of statements to a sagging career but offers no substance to explain what he’s talking about Says he wants to pay homage to his shipyard hometown but then moves to New York and doesn’t look back. Seems to me that he played it safe in his life reflections here so I’m not sure if I know him any better through this Audio book than I would have known him by reading his Wikipedia file.

Well written and narration was very good. Clean, light romance, light religious message. One of the better “free” novels that I’ve listened to on Audible.

Thirty-seven year olds? No way.

I agree with another reviewer; it is unbelievable that the characters were supposed to be in their 30’s. I don’t know if it was the out dated prose or the “old” voices that were used to narrate, but something was definitely off. I felt like I was in a time warp that took me to a land where everyone was 60+ but posing as people in their 30’s. Very odd. The “tea” cottage and antique shop venue were cutesy but that just added to the “old” feeling. It would have been more believable if this had been written to take place in a retirement community with the main characters connecting in their twilight years.
