Historia
The Navy has the SEALS, and the Army has the Green Berets. They are masters of asymmetrical warfare, trained to immerse themselves in hostile territory, sleeping near their enemies and building relationships with people who may want to kill them. Retired lieutenant colonel Tony Schwalm knows this group well, because he is one of them and he trained them. In The Guerrilla Factory, he provides an unbelievably gripping inside look into the grueling training that every army officer must endure to become one of America's elite Green Berets.

Thrilling and humorous adventures and failures
Revisado: 09-27-20
This was an exceptionally interesting book. We’re it up to me I’d likely have listened to it straight through. Humorous stories of almost tragic mistakes paired with tales of epic heroism and superhuman feats. Explained the different branches of SF as well as demonstrating an in depth understanding of unconventional warfare. This book was truly a great read. As entertaining as it was informative. Would definitely recommend to anyone who intends to attempt SF and, though it didn’t discuss it in detail, Ranger school. I feel it would provide much needed insight prior to such efforts. Enjoy!

A lesson in counting
Revisado: 09-15-20
While the book was well written and the topic clearly meant a great deal to the author, I don’t see how the majority of his “lessons” apply to life the way he intended. I like the idea of extreme ownership but his stories were all more or less the same and the “leadership” each demonstrated felt more like a lesson on how to double check your work before shooting. Count thrice kill never. On the whole thé stories were entertaining but I wish he didn’t bring up Ramadi for EVERY big company CEO’s minor inability to lead.

Historia
Amoral, cunning, ruthless, and instructive, this piercing work distills 3,000 years of the history of power into 48 well-explicated laws. This bold volume outlines the laws of power in their unvarnished essence, synthesizing the philosophies of Machiavelli, Sun-tzu, Carl von Clausewitz, and other great thinkers.

Not what I expected
Revisado: 09-03-20
Incredibly thought provoking book. I enjoyed the stories from observances and failures but I failed to anticipate the obvious intent of the book. It goes almost completely against every moral code ever developed and fabricated a world where every human interaction is a game of manipulation and cunning in order to advance yourself and pull others down. In a sick way it enthralls the reader and entices them to attempt the tactics recorded. It was depressing to consider that some people may genuinely think this way.

Historia
The guru to the gurus at last shares his knowledge with the rest of us. Nobel laureate Daniel Kahneman's seminal studies in behavioral psychology, behavioral economics, and happiness studies have influenced numerous other authors, including Steven Pinker and Malcolm Gladwell. In Thinking, Fast and Slow, Kahneman at last offers his own, first book for the general public. It is a lucid and enlightening summary of his life's work. It will change the way you think about thinking. Two systems drive the way we think and make choices, Kahneman explains....

What you see is all there is
Revisado: 08-18-20
Great book which goes into extensive detail of the two systems of your mind and how they make decisions that dictate every aspect of your life. This is not about how to make decisions, but how to change your perspective and make you aware of factors in your life you would otherwise ignore. Many experiments are provided demonstrating how the mind of non-experts (and even experts as the book discusses) can be manipulated with minute details to make decisions that are not in their best interest. These “mistakes” are dissected meticulously in order to explain the unreasonable behaviors exhibited. Very long book to get through but if you enjoy picking brains this is for you.
