Historia
Emma Caan is a fake. She’s a forger, an artist who specializes in nineteenth-century paintings. But she isn’t a criminal; her copies are commissioned by museums and ultra-wealthy collectors protecting their investments. Emma’s more than mastered a Gauguin brushstroke and a van Gogh wheat field, but her work is sometimes a painful reminder of the artistic dreams she once chased for herself, when she was younger and before her family and her world fell apart.

I never really envisioned myself listening to a book about art, but I was mesmerized by Erica Katz’s prose in the same way I was in the boys club. Brava!

Historia
New York Times bestselling author Peter Swanson pens a spectacularly spine-chilling novella in which an American art student in London is invited to join a classmate for the holidays at Starvewood Hall, her family’s Cotswold manor house. But behind the holly and pine boughs, secrets are about to unravel, revealing this seemingly charming English village’s grim history.

Not his best. Narration made it worse
Revisado: 12-26-24
The narrators themselves were fine, but the page turning and weird sound effects made it almost unlistenable and distracted me

When Diana doesn't return home after a night out, Sam and Margaret's search for her reveals just how little they know about their friend.

Wasn’t a fan of Margaret’s character. Not a great ending either. Was interesting enough, though.

Really interesting, Would be better as a short
Revisado: 05-05-24
This was a slow starter and eventually got really interesting. I felt like there was a lot of filler and the most interesting part of the story could have been distilled down into a two hour book

Best I’ve listened to in a long time
Revisado: 01-13-24
This book had me rearranging my life so I could have time to listen to it. Unique story and well executed. The narration was really good too, except there was a different voice doing the chapters, which annoyed me for some reason

Historia
Kay Willingham led a life as glamorous as it was public - she was a gorgeous Georgetown socialite, philanthropist, and the ex-wife of the vice president. So why was she parked in a Bentley convertible idling behind a DC private school, in the middle of the night, with the man who was the head of that school? Who shot them both, point blank, and why? The shocking double homicide is blazed across the internet, TV, newspapers - and across Alex Cross's mind. Kay had been his patient once. And maybe more.

Story was lackluster. Narration was awful.
Revisado: 12-03-20
I still love Alex Cross books and will buy the next one, but this one was a real letdown. The narration didn't help to start with; it was choppy, unnatural, and even mispronounced names. There was also not much that was gripping about the story. I miss the old Cross novels that used to have dual perspective from Cross and the antagonist. This one felt like a TNT procedural drama.

Historia
Thirty years ago, Wilde was found as a boy living feral in the woods, with no memory of his past. Now an adult, he still doesn't know where he comes from, and another child has gone missing. No one seems to take Naomi Pine's disappearance seriously, not even her father - with one exception. Hester Crimstein, a television criminal attorney, knows through her grandson that Naomi was relentlessly bullied at school. Hester asks Wilde - with whom she shares a tragic connection - to use his unique skills to help find Naomi.

I usually soak in Corbin’s stories, but didn’t get too attached to this one. I liked the female main character but didn’t connect much with the male.

Historia
In a Virginia penitentiary, Alex Cross and his partner, John Sampson, witness the execution of a killer they helped convict. Hours later, they are called to the scene of a copycat crime. A note signed "M" rests on the corpse. "You messed up big time, Dr. Cross." Was an innocent man just put to death? Alex soon realizes he may have much to answer for, as "M" lures the detective out of the capital to the sites of multiple homicides, all marked with distressingly familiar details - details that conjure up decades-old cases.

Have never liked an audio book this long
Revisado: 12-08-19
I was hesitant to delve into a book of this length, but I’m happy to say the story loved along at a good pace and felt about half as long as it was. The ending left a little to be desired, but I was pleased with this book
