The author does a great job of intertwining narrative with deep research on persuasion and tools of persuasion. He makes a powerful case of centering dialog, humility, and strategy as a part of how we engage in political change making. From years, I have dreamed that politicians and their staffs would organize local communities to engage in dialogue circles at the local level to talk about important issues. Then, the politicians would make a priority to show up and invite citizens to get involved. Anand paints a picture of people doing this kind of work and the skills they use to empower others!

This books explores the early history of the modern reparations movement. The book is well researched, well written, and provides an important historical record for Americans with an interest in supporting reparations for slavery. Over all, a great read!
