Thoroughly enjoyed it!

See above! I didn’t know what it would be like going in but I gave it a shot as I enjoyed The Mountain Man series by the same author. Can’t wait for my next credit when I get to listen to Breeds 2! Really enjoy having such a long preview into the sequel - it’s a good hook and worked!

I've always had a weak spot for strange ladies. One very beautiful girl had even warned me that she was, get this, a vampire. But did I listen? No.

Pleasantly surprised
Revisado: 03-23-22
Much more creative than I thought it would be - was expecting a trashy vampire novel (and I was okay with that). Instead, what I got was a smart spin on the vampire-just-borne storyline - set in a film noir detective backdrop. Only downside was that the beatings got a bit repetitive (which the character/narrator made reference to “no imagination”) and I wanted a bit more from the team up between the protagonist and Esquette (spelling?). Some really good performances and, overall, a refreshing take on the vampire myth.

Discovered a new gem of a series
Revisado: 02-18-22
Thoroughly enjoyed it! The detective story element has me hoping that Kolchak would actually become a supernatural sleuth. I can see how it influenced the X Files.

Historia
James Crowley met his mortal end in a hail of gunfire. Now, he finds himself in purgatory, serving the White Throne to avoid falling to hell. Not quite undead, though not alive either, the best he can hope for is to work off his servitude and fade away. His not-so-sacred duty as a Hand of God? Use his new abilities to hunt down demonic beings that have infiltrated the mortal realm. This time, the White Throne has sent him to the middle of nowhere: a Western town called Dead Acre with a saloon, a moldy church, and little else worth talking about. There isn’t even a sheriff.

Surprisingly entertaining
Revisado: 04-21-21
I wasn’t expecting much but the previous audible originals I’ve listened to have all been top-notch in terms of performance and production value. A great voice actor really boosted an average but surprisingly entertaining plot. I would definitely like to hear more soon.
