Surprisingly refreshing Performance made the book

Narrator, amazing made the book! Ana's mannerisms and the story flow reminds me of the video series Ann with an e. If you like the series of Ann/e you will enjoy this book.

In some ways it's a typical apocalyptic book and then by book 3 the srory takes a different and interesting turn. Not wanting to give anything away, but the author's view on voices in one's head and the narrator's performance was amazing and disturbing at the same time.

Historia
Returning to the territory he so brilliantly explored in his masterful New York Times best seller American Gods, the incomparable Neil Gaiman offers up a work of dazzling ingenuity, a kaleidoscopic journey deep into myth that is at once startling, terrifying, exhilarating, and fiercely funny, a true wonder of a novel that confirms Stephen King's glowing assessment of the author as "a treasure house of story, and we are lucky to have him."

Historia
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Not sure I can finish the book
Revisado: 12-04-17
What did you like about this audiobook?
The narration is awesome. Really enjoy Rosario Dawson performance!
How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?
Yes, the book is technical in a good way.
Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this?
I think the story setting is great the background is good. The story itself is weak.
What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?
The narration is awesome. Really enjoyed Rosario Dawson!
Do you have any additional comments?
Disappointed that this is the follow-up to the Martian. A small contained city, a smaller number of EVA specialists. A small number of welders and a huge crime. Virtually no cameras at key areas of the vulnerable city...but where Bashara enters from her dastardly work there is seeming nothing. To be caught by Dale who will cover up her crime that could kill everyone on the moon so Bashara will be his friend? The suspected master villain is in communication with Bashara in barely cryptic and trackable emails. Really, this is the story? I am not even done with chapter seven, just do not know how much longer I can hang with Andy on this one. I like Bashara and the Narration...the story and plot are just hard to get lost in.

Historia
The world will end on Saturday. Next Saturday. Just before dinner, according to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655. The armies of Good and Evil are amassing and everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except that a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture. And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist.

Melissa McPhail...Amazing! A Must listen too!
Revisado: 12-17-16
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely, I recommend this series! Melissa isn't just the best female author I have read, she is... period the best author I have ever read. This first book took a little bit to get moving, but hang in there once the characters are in place and you grasp the nuances, of Melissa's writing, you cannot let it go. The chapters and hours flew by. I am on book 3, the story and characters are amazing. I cannot wait to see how this wraps up.
What did you like best about this story?
Really enjoy the characters, their powers and their stories. The characters just keep getting richer and richer. Even the villains are very well done.
What does Nick Podehl bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The narrator is amazing. The voices that Nick brings to life is suburb! Without Nick, the story would not take on a life of its own. After Listening to two of the books, I can't wait to listen to the next chapter.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
How one book ends and the other begins. The story picks right back up and then Mellisa throws in a couple of twists that I just didn't see coming.

To live in a pristine land unchanged by man... to roam a wilderness through which few other humans have passed... to choose an idyllic site, cut trees and build a log cabin... to be a self-sufficient craftsman, making what is needed from materials available... to be not at odds with the world but content with one's own thoughts and company. Thousands have had such dreams, but Richard Proenneke lived them.
