Neatly ties off the story
Revisado: 04-21-25
it still feels like there are so many more stories and adventures that could be told, but it is still good to have gotten to enjoy even just a bit more of the world.

Great ending. Took forever to get there
Revisado: 12-26-24
I know Brandon is all about the journey before the destination, but it felt like this was a particularly long journey of a book to get through. it took over three quarters of the book before I was feeling invested enough to be looking forward to listening rather than having to press on to finish.
The readers are a little dryer than I remember in other books. They mispronounced Sadeas one of the times. overall good though.

Audio mastering is bad. story good though
Revisado: 12-05-19
I'm not a huge fan of the new reader for Lysander, but the audio mastering was better done using him. The story was really good. I didn't see how Darrow would live coming and I'm happy to see Cass alive, but I'm kinda disappointed that's how it happened. there were a lot of heavy deaths in this one. looking forward to the next

Historia
Young Cally is an apprentice within the most unusual order of sorcerers in the known world: the only one that forbids its members from using their powers to kill. Despite his lowly status, Cally's chosen by the Master of the Order to join a delegation to see their allies the Lannovians. The meeting will be historic: 60 years ago, the Order's enemies attacked them with a host of demons, forcing the Order to trap the monsters inside their own citadel and seal it shut with impenetrable wards. The trick worked so well the Order hasn't been able to get it back open since.

Not the best in the series.
Revisado: 08-23-16
I think Card did a good job developing the story and the characters that existed. I am not as happy with some of the characters he introduced and developed them; one in particular. It felt as though Card used her more as a plot device than a person of her design. she had flip flopping traits that would have been reasonable if not felt so contrived. The potential for organic change was present, but circumvented for unnecessary preluding. I still rather enjoy the world, series, and main characters and look forward to thr last book.
The reading was phenomenal, as usual.

Many lose ends tied. Great story set up
Revisado: 08-17-16
The way so many things were tied back together was flawless. Card has a magnificent way of creating personalities and has some true insight into the human psyche.
