Other than a few agree, just mispronunciations, the narrator is actually pretty good. The author needs to be more willing to hurt his main character. Otherwise it becomes a Marty stew fantasy.

Protagonist a bit whiny, but you probably would be too. Kid has some grit and rises to the occasion. Also, has decent guy-code where it comes to his best friend’s girlfriend.

Great. Learned a lot.

The last chapter went off the rails and turned into a climate change spiel. While important, it would have been nice if his conclusions were limited to the scope of what the book purports to sell.
I think he should write a different book about climate and rework the last chapter.
Still a must-read. And it’s a minor gripe.

Christianity he saw as a subtle perversion of this concept, thus Nietzsche's famous pronouncement, "God is dead."

I wouldn’t recommend it on that basis. Didn’t seem neutral and grudgingly allowed that he thought antisemitism was the product of a weak mind.
Other books in the series are good.

David Mitchell’s 2014 best seller Thinking About It Only Makes It Worse must really have made people think - because everything’s got worse. We’ve gone from UKIP surge to Brexit shambles, from horsemeat in lasagne to Donald Trump in the White House, from Woolworths going under to all the other shops going under. It’s probably socially irresponsible even to try to cheer up.

The story is great. The sex scenes could use their own chapter marker so I can skip as I’m not a huge fan of how they’re written.
But all of the rest of the story is fantastic!
Definitely a great read if you don’t offend easily.
