Louise Penny must have used her own grimoire to write this story. Drawing from past books, crumbs left to be swept up into a edge of your seat ending. She is an author who never disappoints

This works for my two Siberian rescues

I have a Mac Mini attached to a TV, so I can play stuff from my hard drive on the smart TV. I've noticed some audiobooks have a nice calming effect. We had two Siberian huskies rescues and after two years fostered another. She was pregnant. She was also the most psychologically damaged dog I've ever seen. Siberian huskies can survive a lot but 5 years in a crate, bred non-stop was too much for this little girl. She passed on some of her neurosis to her son. Our original two died of age-related causes and this severely depressed the Mom and her son. I started listening to my audiobooks on the TV and noticed they seemed calmed. They also love The Lord of the Rings movies. Usually, picking up my car keys can cause a meltdown. But now, I put on Lord of the Rings or an audiobook and they go into the living room and lie down. I've looked into the living room from outside and see them watching the movie! If it's and audiobook, they are sleeping. It's not all movies or audiobooks, some just don't work. My dogs have a large fenced yard they can access at will with a doggy door but when I'm gone they are inside listening or watching. No meltdown when I come inside either! If I forget to leave a device on, I am greeted with screaming howling scolding. I'm glad someone researched this.

Great art mystery

As an art school drop out who went into science and returned to art later. This book was a treat. Peter and Claire, wow! I also married and artist but we joke about admiring each other's work or not. The jealousies that could fester, I can imagine so it really breaks your heart to see them struggle. I just listened to this book for the third time. I am bingeing towards the newest release in a few weeks. I loved this book every bit as much as the first time.

Where does Cherringham - A Cosy Crime Series Compilation (Cherringham 13-15) rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I have enjoyed the audible versions of these very much. The characters are very likable and well developed, no sloppy tropes.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Sometimes but mostly these books are relaxing and fun. I don't always guess who done it but it's better than meditation.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A sober Jesse Stone retires to the Cotswold

please hurry with the future audio versions in English. It's been over thirty years and my college German is too rusty

If you could sum up Home to Cedar Branch in three words, what would they be?

Nobody's Perfect, But....

What was one of the most memorable moments of Home to Cedar Branch?

I think we all can agree after listening to this book that a skylight has no business in a doctor's examination room.

Which scene was your favorite?

Inside the Quaker Meetinghouse, when not only the ex-husband seems to fall under the Quaker spell but the battered wife starts to lose some of her hate and anger.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, sitting on the deck with my coffee on a Sunday morning listening to this book was lovely.

Any additional comments?

If you ever wonder about the Quaker sensibility and feasibility of non-violence in our society, this book is a good one to see it in action in a humorous way.

Once Again, A Great Listen

Would you consider the audio edition of Outfoxed to be better than the print version?

Yes, I would rarely agree but Grover Gardner's wonderful accent is so New Jersey! It really feels correct and makes it perfect, especially when Andy Carpenter wonders whether some mayor has upset Governor Christie when stuck in traffic. I can imagine this train of thought becoming part of the New Jersey consciousness.

Which scene was your favorite?

The scenes where Andy discovers his son has impressed his teacher with his math skills and then has to deal with his son's knowledge of bookies and points spreads. Andy hates work and being pulled out of his comfort zone and begrudgingly does it for clients –yet, eagerly embraces it for his son... Andy is a good father :-)

If you could sum up Outtakes from a Marriage in three words, what would they be?

Will Not Disappoint

What was one of the most memorable moments of Outtakes from a Marriage?

I loved her clueless innocence in the hands of hairdressers, dermatologists, her crush on her therapist and her inability to give up on a marriage even when she wants to choke her husband.

What does Cassandra Campbell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The feel of New York, Long Island accent made me laugh and the west coast accents were so familiar.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

when the character defended her son's development to the pre-school teacher -he was only four LOL

I absolutely loved Good House and while Outtakes was completely different, I enjoyed it also. I am getting ready to download her third book and am eager to hear what she's written. She is becoming a very good storyteller and I hope she has a long and productive career!

Thoroughly enjoyable listen!

A light-hearted murder, a unique character, refreshing family dynamics and an enjoyable listen!

Wendy Roberts has written a fun book, --even the heartbreaking reality of a mentally ill parent is written with true compassion and humor. I have a schizophrenic sibling --she is hopefully now past the 'episodes' but we keep our fingers crossed. She is on her own, she is an adult, we can do very little for her, but love her. She has given us alternating periods of humor, terror and grief but if you can't laugh at the insanity of it all (pun intended) -the grief will damage your soul. Wendy Roberts gets it and writes it very well.

Also, the complexities of contemporary relationships are written in a refreshing, smart-ass style. The heroine knows she can't save her father but she can give him a cup of hot coffee; she knows she can't change her boyfriend but she can still maintain a guarded friendship after he betrays her.

This book goes in my 'waiting room playlist' A book I can pick up and put down in the dentist's waiting room or at the evil in-laws... a wonderful, amusing diversion from life's sucky realities.
