Historia
Most of what you think you know about writing is useless. It's the harmful debris of your education - a mixture of half-truths, myths, and false assumptions that prevents you from writing well. Drawing on years of experience as a writer and teacher of writing, Verlyn Klinkenborg offers an approach to writing that will change the way you work and think. There is no gospel, no orthodoxy, no dogma in this book. What you'll find here isn't the way to write. Instead, you'll find a way to clear your mind of illusions about writing and discover how you write.

This sounded more like a verbal performance than an helpful set of instructions, to me.

Historia
Tucked away amongst snow-covered mountains is a tiny Australian town with a dark secret. Journalist Patrick Abboud hears whispers that it was once home to the world’s only 'gay prison'. A prison that specifically incarcerated gay men. His investigation into what happened inside reveals the full story for the first time. This queer true-crime journey takes you from underground nightclubs to hidden sex haunts, to remote parts of New Zealand and England. You’ll find yourself entangled in a police cover up, a case of wrongful conviction and a human experiment that didn’t go to plan.

I was hoping for a deeper exploratin of the title but couldn't see the value at the halfway mark so dropped it. perhaps a good introduction but not enought to keep me going.

Historia
Our brains do their best to help us out, but every so often they can be real assholes - having meltdowns, getting addicted to things, or shutting down completely at the worst possible moments. Your brain knows it's not good to do these things, but it can't help it sometimes - especially if it's obsessing about trauma it can't overcome. That's where this life-changing book comes in. With humor, patience, science, and lots of good-ole swearing, Dr. Faith explains what's going on in your skull, and talks you through the process of retraining your brain to respond appropriately....

This is a clever author and she knowns her work and entertains you with the truth.
Consistently on brand and authoritative.
Made me think and rethink a lot of things.
[Note for Audible] There is an audio clinch in the first 10 minutes that I hope audible fixes, but if you persist, you'll learn something useful.

Historia
Sal used to know his place with his adoptive gay father, their loving Mexican American family, and his best friend, Samantha. But it's senior year, and suddenly Sal is throwing punches, questioning everything, and realizing he no longer knows himself. If Sal's not who he thought he was, who is he? This humor-infused, warmly humane look at universal questions of belonging is a triumph.

Hard to drink from a firehose
Revisado: 01-21-19
I had high hopes for this Step-by-step-Guide book but overall I found it more collection of checklists of great information, I had no way of connecting with in audio form. The chapter are unnamed so looking for more relevant portions is harder and the overall theme felt like 'this is wants possible' rather than 'this is a framework of where to start'. The author is no doubt knowledgable, I struggled to come along for the journey.

Important book for guys who lead and who care
Revisado: 01-21-19
Authors who read their own books are usually able to communicate more nuances and this was true with this book. I struggled a little in the middle to follow uniquely female relevant content but an important read if you interact with women in the workplace, growing strong and confident daughters and for men who are looking to better understand their key relationships and the world around them.

Simple self-promoting material only - yuck
Revisado: 06-08-12
I felt this was a waste of my precious time - nothing new, filled with more 'self-promotional material' than useful content. Perhaps it’s a good entry level book for the easily impressed, sadly you have to work harder to keep my attention.
