Historia
Dalinar Kholin challenged the evil god Odium to a contest of champions with the future of Roshar on the line. The Knights Radiant have only ten days to prepare—and the sudden ascension of the crafty and ruthless Taravangian to take Odium’s place has thrown everything into disarray. Desperate fighting continues simultaneously worldwide—Adolin in Azir, Sigzil and Venli at the Shattered Plains, and Jasnah in Thaylenah. The former assassin, Szeth, must cleanse his homeland of Shinovar from the dark influence of the Unmade.

Satisfying
Revisado: 02-25-25
This book was a good setup for the next 5 without leaving a massive cliff hanger, while also giving some decent conclusion and insight of how broader the story will be. Love it.

Historia
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Epic
Revisado: 10-30-24
Outright epic. If anyone complains about a slow start they really don’t care enough about the characters. It’s full of despair, contemplation, morality, old-world prophetic notes, grand civilization, and hints at all kinds of complex world building in all of those “ slow “ parts. Which I personally absolutely loved. One of the greatest fantasy books I’ve read to date. Author does an incredible job of keeping you engaged - any action in the book is wild and well conveyed, and you find yourself wanting more and more.
Male narrator does amazing, the female I think also does great. I think people get too critical sometimes of narrators. I had no issues with them. Deff not going to ruin your experience with the book or anything.
11/5 for me.

Another good one picks up halfway through
Revisado: 07-06-24
I read this AFTER the wizardom series and also the first available audio book of the prequel the first wizard. Comparing is apples to oranges but I got big Harry Potter school vibes in the first half of the 3 books and then it settled into the stuff I was used to and love. Ultimately it was important enough to have the first half the way it was in the end, but I felt like the first book alone entirely could have captured what was needed in order to let the big grand adventure and epic lore stuff happen on a slower scale. Loved it either way. Can’t get enough of the author.

Historia
Ian and Vic are brothers. Their lives are simple, and while they might long for excitement, happiness can be found in a hard day's work, a sunny day, or the smile from a pretty girl. Their lives are turned on end when their village is attacked and they are taken as slaves, destined to labor under the watchful eye of their captors. The strife that had long dominated much of the world had found them. Things would never be the same.

Good narrator - good world building
Revisado: 05-01-24
Imagine a very involved D&D campaign with a touch of love, mostly sarcasm, and plenty of action. Really like all of the mystery and world building that occurs. Book one is a little linear but that soon changes in book 2 on. I recommend if you like typical fantasy action without any smut, but hints of romance scattered throughout.
