Riveting and thorough

If only the El Faro handlers had paid one-millionth of the attention to detail as Glade.... Thoroughly researched, sweeping epic, historical modern saga of what should've been an avoidable disaster. Brilliantly performed. Left me in tears of anger frustrations, and profound sadness.

The substance of this book is worth way more than the cost of it. I will purchase the physical book as it's a keeper. Sadly the narration and production are quite poor. But the content is good enough that you can overlook this and get great insights.

I couldn't get past chapter 2 because of the author's narrating style. He does himself a disservice. Compelling content ruined by halting, staccato, increasing-pitch-for-no-reason segments that made it impossible to enjoy digesting the material. Will read the paperback instead.

It was a long walk down a meandering plank....

The narration is fine (lots of different accents and well-performed characters). But that's literally all I hung about for. Had I been reading the actual book, I wouldn't have finished it. Interminable. Overwrought plot. So many sub-plots, you begin to wonder if they validate parking.
