Historia
The Lonely Motel holds many dark secrets and room six just might hold the worst of them all. Angel knows a lot about pain. His mother died in this room. He's researched its history. He's come back today to end it, no matter the cost, once and for all. Prostitute Shyla believes the stories Angel tells her can't be true. Secrets so vile, you won't want to let them inside you. But the Lonely Motel doesn't forget. It doesn't forgive. And it always claims its victim.

not horror just gross
Revisado: 03-12-24
This is well written, but I wouldn't call it horror. it's just a collection of very descriptive gross stories, each trying to be more vile than the last. The only horror here is humanity.

so good
Revisado: 03-23-23
absolutely loved it. characters have depth and feel like they could be real people. their relationship issues can be actual problems, not manufactured road blocks like so many other book plots. I'll definitely be getting more books from this author. the narrator is very good as well

loved it
Revisado: 03-18-23
the characters felt more like their old selves. The story is setting up for the next chapter in all the main players lives, but it's still fun, exciting, and amusing in places.

sound effects are too much
Revisado: 05-24-22
once again I love the story but they try too hard with the sound effects. for something people put headphones In and let it play, you really don't want sudden screaming and loud ringing noises. for people with hearing issues like tinitus that makes these types of stories un listenable.

Historia
From executive producers of The Walking Dead and Travis Beacham, the writer of Pacific Rim, comes a heart-stopping Audible Original featuring a brilliant British cast. It’s the near future and seven years since a comet hit the earth and blotted out the sun. The world is a dark, frozen landscape. And then, beastly creatures emerge and take over. A story of apocalypse, horror, and adventure, Impact Winter is a wholly original new saga created just for Audible with immersive 3D audio that dares you to pop in your earbuds and listen in the dark.

overall quite good but sound effects are too much
Revisado: 04-03-22
the sound effects are far louder than the words which is jarring at times and causes a lot of volume up and down. also 30seconds of music at the end of an episode is super unnecessary, in a TV show I get it that's where credit are but in these the credits are the last chapter. overall I like the idea of the audio books that sound like a TV is on in another room but some action scenes were strictly just the sound effects, and that was very hard to follow. Also for those with tinitus the sound effects make these books impossible to listen to, I know 2 people who have tried and these books physically hurt them to listen to.
story line was interesting and I enjoyed the characters.

Narrator talks like Captain Kirk
Revisado: 08-27-21
The Cons: The speaking pattern of the narrator is slow and jerky like Kirk in old Trek episodes, you're gonna have to speed it up to tolerate the Audible narrator. And there is way to much repetition of basic information. Questions asked belligerently and then answered 10 times or more that just seem to slow the action and pad the word count.
The Pros: For a religious fiction LKH did a great job being inclusive and accurate as she could.
I loved the characters and the story. Her overall writing style is fantastic and her world building is on point.
I will still follow for the next book for the same reason I follow Anita. I love the characters and the story. I hope LKH ditches the extra wordiness though.

I loved it ❤️
Revisado: 03-09-19
I love the new take on fairytale world. The characters are very well fleshed out and draw you into their world, almost like they had help from a fairy godmother.
