Historia
Ty Seidule grew up revering Robert E. Lee. From his southern childhood to his service in the US Army, every part of his life reinforced the Lost Cause myth: that Lee was the greatest man who ever lived, and that the Confederates were underdogs who lost the Civil War with honor. Now, as a retired brigadier general and Professor Emeritus of History at West Point, his view has radically changed. From a soldier, a scholar, and a southerner, Ty Seidule believes that American history demands a reckoning.

An important look at Lost Cause mythology and Lee
Revisado: 08-04-24
COL Seidule delves not only into his own personal beliefs, but those of the Virginians, Georgians, and others who used the myth of Robert E. Lee and the Lost Cause to jail, rape and murder African Americans, as a way to reinforce white supremacy. This wasn't only restricted to the former Confederate states. Ty addresses his own beliefs and how just through standard research he is as able to reconcile his own actions that were informed by a false history propagated by the UDC, SCV, and state governments.

Historia
Batman is one of the most compelling and enduring characters to come from the Golden Age of Comics, and interest in his story has only increased through countless incarnations since his first appearance in Detective Comics #27 in 1939. Why does this superhero without superpowers fascinate us? What does that fascination say about us? Batman and Psychology explores these and other intriguing questions about the masked vigilante, including: Does Batman have PTSD? Why does he fight crime? Why as a vigilante? Why the mask, the bat, and the underage partner?

Great insight into the bat and his retinue.

What drives Batman to do what he does? This book explains some possible reasons while leaving the door open on the subject of Batman's sanity. Only thing I hated was that not enough time was spent on Joker and Ra's all Ghul, but this isn't their book.

Great short story

I only wish this story had been longer than 45 minutes to help those unfamiliar with the Killing Joke and Death in the Family to get more back story on the references in the book.

Hot on the heels of the New York Times best seller William Shakespeare's Star Wars comes the next two installments of the original trilogy: William Shakespeare's The Empire Striketh Back and William Shakespeare's The Jedi Doth Return. Return to the star-crossed galaxy far, far away as the brooding young hero, a power-mad emperor, and their jesting droids match wits, struggle for power, and soliloquize in elegant and impeccable iambic pentameter. Something Wookiee this way comes!

I loved the introduction of back stories for Lando and Boba Fett. I hope we see something like this for the Force Wakens and the newer Star Wars movies.

I remember being told this story ages ago and to hear it told again was awesome. The narrator was excellent as well.
