Mojo receives a call from "The Whistle Stop Hobby Shop". He's told his pocket watch has arrived. It's a gift from someone named "Rufus". I am glad that I can now get some of the titles by Meatball Fulton(ZBS) on Audible. Mojo Sam is a supporting character on the Jack Flander's series. This is one of the few titles with Mojo Sam as the lead character. Mojo has the kind of voice that makes you fall in love with this character. This title is more about a fun short story (more like a "Twilight Zone" episode) and not really about Voodoo. If you enjoy a little light hearted sci-fi fantasy, than these titles are for you.

This version abridged & read by Theodore Bikel is what hooked me on audio books. This reader has a deep gruff voice with a European accent that adds a magical touch to the reading. Scott Brick is one of my favorate readers, but to me it just isn't Shannara when Scott reads the latest version. The abridged version is not as long winded and is nicely done. If you like this, than try the rest of Terry Brooks's audio books. You can't go wrong, but read them in order.

I listen to 4 or 5 audio books a month and "Straken" the 3rd book in this series peaked my interest from beginning to end. I usually get bored after the 1st few books in a fantasy series, but never with Terry Brooks. I would suggest reading (or listening to) all of his prior works 1st, but it is not necessary. I love how he develops the characters, the realistic fantasy setting and the plot along with a great ending. I have listened to some audio books from as many 3 different readers for the same book, and I think the reader makes all the difference in the world. I give this book and the reader both 5 stars.
