interesting story. Skillfully written. The author did not waste time virtue signaling modern feminist woke themes, so it was no surprise in chapter 18 when he did the obvious move for most modern writers, and shoehorned in anti-christian morality in the favored form of consequence free, out of wedlock, sex between the 2 main hero characters. A trope that is as ubiquitous as it is tiring.

They had to pinch the woke incense.

I knew it was coming, but I was constantly surprised with how long it went. Into the final book before one of then, either one of the authors, Amazon, or some corporate head.
But finally, they found a way to shoehorn the pinch of incense to the rainbow god. It isn't integral to the plot, it is in a small, throwaway scene, it is completely superfluous to the story, which makes it stand out more glaringly as a compulsory nod to the woke overlords.
And my search for scifi that doesn't need to shoehorn pr0n or rainbow or bare anti-christianity will go on. Some day I will find something, but it is not this day.
