Historia
A fighter, rogue, and ladies man, Alan Lewrie has done the unthinkable and gotten himself hitched--to a woman and a ship! The woman is the lovely Caroline Chiswick. The ship is the gun ketch, Alacrity, bound for the Bahamas and a bloody game of cat and mouse with the pirates who ply the lunatic winds there. But while war comes naturally to the young husband, politics doesn't.

Lewrie. Alan Lewrie
Revisado: 12-31-10
Just another fun book in the Alan Lewrie series made even better with John Lee's narration. Any of the books in the series are worth the time to enjoy if you like the Age of Sail, high seas action and a flawed hero with a penchant for getting into trouble with the ladies and for the thunder of cannons.

Historia
The year is 1792 - the start of the French Revolutionary Wars. A shadow hangs over John Thomas Fury in this his first voyage as a midshipman aboard the 32-gun frigate Amazon. Fury is already seen as a pariah by his fellow sailors. Ten years earlier his father, a brig commander in the Service, became mentally unbalanced and violent and his ships crew mutinied and went over to the French.

Good story nearly ruined..
Revisado: 12-31-10
It is very, very hard to get through this story regardless of how original the way magic works in this world is and how good several of the characters are due to the abysmal narration of Mr. Jean. Very odd pauses and rhythm to his narration and the voice he uses for the Prism is just wrong and annoying. As one other person noted.. waaaay too much like Keanu Reeves in Bill and Ted. Makes it hard to swallow that the guy is the character he's meant to be. The voice he uses for Kip doesn't quite ring true either. Definitely will be listening to samples anytime I see he is the narrator.
