YD La Mar will always be one of my favorite reviewers first. And then she went and did what any book and story lover would do, she began writing the books she wanted to read. Her reviews were always lyrical, her books are no less.

Stuck on audiobooks right now, of course I snatched this up as soon as I seen it was available.

Raven Darby did a great job here y'all, she put emotion into what she was reading, which wasn't always easy as this is a dark, psychological thriller with triggers (for some).

And for those Reaper lovers (Soul Taker series), there's a nice lil surprise at the end.

I didn’t know there was a PNR aspect (I guess that’s what one would call it) to this book. I may have like it more of that wasn’t preset. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Amazing Audio

I love when one of my favorite books get turned into an audiobook. The story is a crazy ride so sit back and enjoy. The audio was spot on for the characters!!! Can’t wait for the rest of the series to be in audio.

Just one annoying issue

Narrator was great I just couldn’t get passed the way she pronounced words that began with “wh”. Kept taking me out of the story.

This is one of those books you will either love or hate there is no in between.

I loved it.

There are plenty of reviews if you need more details.

This is currently available in the Audible Plus catalogue. Narration was perfect although there are many POVs. There were a few editing blips where you can tell it was a re-record but nothing that would ruin the experience.

Beware of the Carnival

Do you like Carnivals? Do you like crazy scary Carnivals? Then you're gonna like this one.

William Joseph takes us on a journey of a mobile Carnival. The story is told from different perspectives and I think that really made the story unique.

First we are introduced to a couple that decides to enjoy a day at the Carnival in town. Unfortunate for this couple, the Carnival is not what it seems and, well, sometimes when you lose something valuable, you just need to take that L.

Next we see things through a runaway who decides that joining the Carnival is a way to keep moving further from his life as possible. Once he's invited to join the team, he starts planning "The Takeover".

Lastly, a young girl who was seen in an old woman's vision. She becomes a target and doesn't understand why. But we the readers, we know why and we get to see everything unfold.

Mr. Joseph will make you never want to visit a traveling Carnival. His detail in how things go down will make you think twice when it comes to enjoying something that's only around temporarily.

I was lucky to win an Audio version of the book while I was mid-read and I enjoyed it very much. Michelle Araya did a great job in the narration.

Liz & Evelyn

My Husband's Fiancée is the first book I've read by Wendy Owen. From what I can tell she is a multi-genre author and this book is a Romantic Thriller.

Liz is in prison for a crime she maintains she did not commit. Her husband cheated on her after they went through a difficult time and then the woman ends up dead. No one wants to believe her.

One day she gets a visit from a stranger claiming to be her husband's fiancée, the thing is Liz and her husband are still married. This stranger, Evelyn, says she wants Liz to sign the divorce papers so everyone can move on with their life. Liz, desperate for anyone to listen to her side of the story agrees to sign, under one condition. Evelyn must hear Liz out.

Wendy set the plot up very well. We are taking down different paths and see-saw back and forth whether it was Liz or her husband that killed the mistress. Until little things start to nag at us during these visits with Evelyn. That's when we are start to say hmmmmm.

Is Evelyn who she claims to be? Is Liz really innocent? I look forward to the next book, My Wife's Secrets, which appears to be told from the husband's POV. Yes we are left with unanswered questions, but that's what a good book does, it keeps you guessing until the end when all is revealed.

The narration was performed by Whitney Dykhouse and she did an excellent job. She made it very easy to differentiate between Liz and Evelyn during the scenes together.
