Historia
At one time, Corrie ten Boom would have laughed at the idea that she had a story to tell. For the first 50 years of her life, nothing out of the ordinary ever happened to her. She was a spinster watchmaker living contentedly with her sister and their elderly father in the tiny house over their shop in Haarlem. Their uneventful days, as regulated as their own watches, revolved around their abiding love for one another. But with the Nazi invasion and occupation of Holland, everything changed....

Revisado: 04-09-24
The story was wonderful to read. Whitson does a wonderful job immersing you in the story, taking you through the trials and tribulations in an honest way… Makes you feel like this is exactly the way these characters would have gone through things in real life. Such a sweet story.

Historia
Jesse King doesn't want to go west, but her husband has never been all that concerned with what his wife wants. When tragedy strikes, Jesse is rescued by the Lakota Sioux, among whom she finds unexpected peace, a sense of belonging, and the love of a lifetime. A compelling tale of one woman's extraordinary faith as God leads her from prairie schooner to tepee, from tepee to frontier fort, and on to a growing state capitol.

Such a great heartwarming story
Revisado: 02-23-24
This was such a great read! I I love how Whitson tied history into the story and didn’t try to tame down the reality of heartbreak in those days. The element of the characters faith was credible and weaved into the storyline beautifully! I have never read her books, but this will certainly not be the last!! Thank you!

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Insightful!!
Revisado: 03-18-22
This book is so current. I don’t care that it was written decades ago. The principles of how to treat people are so very relevant to today. This is not just a one and done book for me. I will read this at least once a year! I am 52 and I wish I’d read it earlier on in life!
