Haunting
Revisado: 04-02-25
Out of all the books I’ve read this year I do believe this one will stick with me the longest. It’s a tale that makes you think about your own life and how the world we live in effects us and our surroundings ( ourselves and our closest loved ones)
It’s a thriller in the best way! Alice took the “stranded on an island” trope and made it fresh and new. Wove in some creepy bits and even tacked on a plot that makes you stay up all night turning the pages.
Bravo! This book took me out of my reading slump. Solid & BOLD 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Love it or hate it…
Revisado: 02-15-25
Yes, I was intrigued. However this story had me shaking my head most of the time trying to figure out what Frieda was trying to accomplish with this story. The ending was hard for me to believe on a lot of levels and was disappointing.
However, I am one that loves to hate her books but devour them to the delicious end. Frieda you are an author genius…truly!

Better than expected!
Revisado: 01-30-25
When I started this book (it’s been on my TBR for months) I figured it would be fun and fluffy like romance genre can be, but OMG! this one exceeded my expectations.
The author immediately breaks the third wall and talks directly to the reader. In a story like this, it was fun and refreshing. All throughout the book it’s narrated in the third person and it just brought a fresh perspective to an otherwise “been there, done that” trope that we know. (Whoops, I’m knocked up)
The author manages to add humor and very intelligent wit all throughout making this book not only fun to read but totally engaging.
I will say it is extreme in most cases and not a book to read if you want only fluff-most of the romance is closed door-so it’s not really smut in that sense. Plenty of language but in a way, I think, may be needed for this kind of story. So if you are faint of heart proceed with caution.
I definitely recommend this book!

Still a Fun Ride, but…
Revisado: 01-23-25
It was just OK for me. We do discover a lot of things in this 2nd installment of the trilogy but it was a little too much teenaged drama for my taste (seemed to be more so than the first book) However, I do like some of the journeys this book took us on near the end.
If you liked the first book this one is in the same vein but just a feeling of MORE. The feelings heightened and the stakes are higher. But the overall feeling for me fell flat in the end.
In the first book, the feeling between the sisters made the story great for me but this book didn’t have the same intrigue that left me feeling like I wanted more.
I do hope the next book is even better!

But this year Scarlett's long-dreamt-of invitation finally arrives. With the help of a mysterious sailor, Tella whisks Scarlett away to the show. Only as soon as they arrive, Tella is kidnapped by Caraval's mastermind organizer, Legend.

What a fun ride through Caraval! 🎠
Revisado: 01-22-25
What a fun journey through Caraval! It’s a story that sweeps you off your feet and reminds you to not take things so seriously sometimes. The romance is sprinkled throughout but not a focus. The true focus is the story between the sisters. I was able to guess the twist at the end early on in the book.
I still give this 5+ stars! I will not soon forget my first time at the Caraval games. REMEMBER IT’S ONLY A GAME
Happy reading!

Page after page of gossip and that you can’t put down. Shout out to Johnny Weir for taking this audiobook to the next level. Definitely recommend this fun read.

A Peek Into a Lovely World Full of Secrets
Revisado: 01-09-25
While this story took a bit for me to latch onto, I let myself get pulled into the lives of Johnny and James (not sure of the spelling as I just listened :)
The way that Adrienne pulls you into the world by painting elaborate pictures with her words is such a beautiful gift! She is a remarkable author in that way.
It is hard to put this book down. The slow current to start the story becomes a rushing water that you have no choice but to be carried along it currents with storytelling like no other!
Adrienne so effortlessly invites you to unfold the secrets of this gorgeous but quaint town that holds so many secrets you have no choice but to be drawn to the light at the end of a tragic tunnel James is so eager to find.
Go into this story with an open heart and mind. You will be rewarded!

Don’t Judge The Cover!
Revisado: 12-19-24
I fell into the age old trap of putting this book in my TBR pile for weeks simply because the cover made me think it would be the classic Rom Com with a sprinkle of holiday wishes.
Boy was I wrong! While this book did have a Rom Com vibe with holiday magic throughout, it wasn’t because it was all sweet and sugary. This book has so much heart and realness all throughout!
It was surprisingly easy to read and hooked me all the way to the last word. I will be recommending this book to all my friends. Beautiful and well worth the credit.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year...but not for Maelyn Jones. She’s living with her parents, hates her going-nowhere job, and has just made a romantic error of epic proportions. But perhaps worst of all, this is the last Christmas Mae will be at her favorite place in the world - the snowy Utah cabin where she and her family have spent every holiday since she was born, along with two other beloved families.

Just what you would expect from a rom com book. I liked the magic part but it wasn’t fully explained and it was a little frustrating. If you are just in the story for the romance you will LOVE this but otherwise…meh!
