Historia
People call me Father, but I prefer Frank, because I'm the worst preacher you'll ever meet. Days spent completely wasted pull a number on you, especially when you've got a truckload of baggage that comes with it. Until this beautiful girl in the back of the church takes my breath away. And we end up committing sacrilege in the confessional. Bad doesn't even begin to describe me, and after one taste of what she's got to offer, I want more.

HOWEVER
Revisado: 11-24-19
This was definitely an exciting read: great, interesting story with well thought out character development. So many surprises along the way as if Clarissa Wild were slowly unfolding an entire world for the readers. The writing is saucy and thrilling, and "fuck me" it was sexy. I think all listeners are due some confessions after listening. The narrator, Gregory Sutton is perfect and gives each character their own identity and personality. I really felt like I was listening to a pro story teller and fantastic actor. Very interesting to hear a male take on characters of different gender, backgrounds, ages, all written by a female. The narrator shifted so easily from tender Father Frank to a more aggressive and sex dominating Frank, to sweet siren Laura, to young, inquisitive Bruno and to rough El Campion (to name a few). I am in awe at how Sutton carried dialogue that balanced between conversational and also during saucy, intimate scenes. very hot stuff, excellent listen. "fuck me"

informative & entertaining
Revisado: 11-06-19
this book weaves together the stories one flight attendant (bill Rivera) shares in becoming and thriving in the career, while also sprinkling in some basic "how to" I'm not in the aviation industry but have a new appreciation for the work and certainly the rigorous hiring process. gives me a lot to think about as a passenger and traveler. it's also an interesting perspective to consider the parallels across my line of work with rivera's experience.
the narration was so smooth and natural. at times it felt like the narrator (gregory sutton) was speaking directly to me. I really enjoyed how it presents as conversational. his voice was soothing and always clear to understand. It never felt like he was reading, his voice is dynamic without being over the top. he gave Rivera's words voice.
great listen. would love to read feedback from listeners in the field of aviation.

wonderfully narrated for content related to loss

the narrator was phenomenal. what an amazing story teller voice. i appreciated the skill of reading with emotional as the listener experiences lots of reactions to the dynamics of loss. gregory sutton was able to tell the story from multiple perspectives and character (across age and gender). the book had periods that were lengthy or unpredictable to a listener, but lots of beautiful imagery and detail. many stories had big twists and suddenness ... similar to most loss we experience.

Historia
In this “vital, necessary, and beautiful book” (Michael Eric Dyson), antiracist educator Robin DiAngelo deftly illuminates the phenomenon of white fragility and “allows us to understand racism as a practice not restricted to 'bad people'" (Claudia Rankine). Referring to the defensive moves white people make when challenged racially, white fragility is characterized by emotions such as anger, fear, and guilt and by behaviors including argumentation and silence. These behaviors, in turn, function to reinstate white racial equilibrium and prevent meaningful cross-racial dialogue.

love the book, not the voice
Revisado: 01-25-19
this is such an important book, with refreshingly honest content. i plan to reread it again to affirm my understanding. speaking my truth, i found amy landon's voice distracting. it is personal preference and has little to do with her talent. i felt a more natural, friendly, clear voice would have been more pleasing to listen. amy is breathy on certain phonemes that sounded, to me, serious and silly.
