Historia
Five years ago, Olivia Baker was snowed in and stranded in a small town, unable to make it back to the city for Christmas. Five days later, she broke up with her corporate boyfriend in Seattle and made the rash decision to stay in the small town, promising to save the local paper and fall in love with the rugged country boy who knew how to sling an ax and make her weak in the knees.

This book was nothing like I expected, but so much BETTER!
Revisado: 12-25-24
I love the anti-Hallmark feel with some romance and a satisfying ending. I'm so glad I picked this one up this season. It was the perfect book to get you in the Christmas spirit.
I did a combo Kindle and audiobook read, and both were fantastic!
Read if you love:
+Parallel universe
+Christmas vibes
+Romance
+Small town AND big city
Moss did a fantastic job with this one! A new favorite for sure.

Counting every hard-earned penny, she longs to leave behind her tainted legacy, seeking solace in the company of her faithful companion, Opie, a stray dog who found her when she needed him most.

This book held so much freaking HOPE.
Revisado: 12-17-24
Callie had an extremely rough go at family life. Her father (if you can call him that) is the town's deadbeat who really could care less about his daughter. Just out of jail, he's ready to stir up trouble at a time that couldn't be worse. She's on the brink of getting out of town until everything that could force her to stay happens.
The journey of letting go of something that is so important to you was so well written and kept me listening to the audiobook any time I got the chance. Opie was extremely lovable from the very first page. Even as her dog, you really get to know him like we do with our own furry friends.
There is a lot of suspense in this one, which also surprised me! I really loved it.
No spoilers here, but I love how Bitner concluded this story. It was just right.

I adored this audiobook! Garner did a great job and brought so much life to Emma by narrating it herself. The journey was so realistic and often felt like she was in my head when I was Emma’s age. Very well done!!

Historia
It’s officially booty o’clock, I’m alone again in my kitchen choking down a slice of terrible chocolate cake…and I’m pretty sure I just got drunk texted by the man I have a ginormous crush on. I’ve been daydreaming about Eliot Hoffman’s dimples for two months, and even though I’m sure this was a mistake on his end, it doesn’t mean it’s not an opportunity on mine. It’s the middle of the night, and I just wanna talk to him. So I text him back.

Dialogue focused

I love how quick this book was. The voice notes definitely made this dialogue heavy, which I adore. Such a sweet story with so much depth even for its short length.
