Just finished listening to the series for the second time and actually enjoyed it more this time. Great character development and “the end justifies the means” discussion throughout the story. A really good story, very well narrated-looking forward to reading it again.

I give Sexton credit for his honesty about his failings as an individual while talking about his successful rugby career. He obviously has his inner demons and is his own biggest critic. He uses the phrase “if only I knew then what I know now” frequently making you wonder if he really ever did learn the things that so many people tried to help with.
A wonderful rugby player and a flawed man.

I couldn’t stop listening to this book. Wonderful updating of a classic, set in heartbreaking times.

If only all of our politicians (on both sides of the aisle) had Ms Cheney’s dedication to the rule of law, and commitment to upholding the Constitution of the United States. I may strongly disagree with many of her stated policies, but I am proud of her as a person and her shining example of what we should all do, as we face the choice those you protect themselves or those that defend the Constitution and people of the United States.

Beautifully written and brilliantly narrated. A very poignant story dealing with personal and private trauma. Best book I’ve listened to this year.

Dan Martin was a professional bike rider not a writer and it really shows in this book. Neither the ghost writer nor the narrator gave him any help either.
The book seems to fall between two approaches and satisfies neither. As a book on his philosophy of riding it sounds very self satisfied and gives limited insight into how other riders found this philosophy.
As a book on the technical issues of professional riding we are left to wonder what 32-cog or 38-cog wheels are meant to signify. He almost does not touch on the huge technical changes he must have witnessed over his career.
As for the panda…

Port docks are called quays and pronounced as “keys” - not quays as the narrator kept saying. Also the front of the ship is the bow pronounced as in to “bow” to royalty, not bow as in tying a bow with ribbon.
For the most part I think the narrator did well. The character’s accents were not consistent-even though they are fictitious characters from fictitious place and talk whatever way they talk, I still found the variations distracting.

If the society was to be super secret then why did he document everything he knew about reincarnation and the workings of the society. Then he gives the books to someone who is not of the society.
The narrators-usually on the mark with accents-absolutely butchered how a Welsh and Cockney accent would sound.

I did not have any idea the subject was climate change, I just liked his other stuff so I started listening.
The overall story was wonderfully developed and explained. The way the story is told through different characters and science was very well done. I’m no literary critic so character development etc is not my thing. I loved all the characters and the narrators brought them all to life.
The book does not preach and I can only hope the Ministry of the Future comes into existence very soon.

I love Tana French’s book and on finishing her most recent one - The Searcher- the Liar’ Girl came up as recommended reading.
The plot was good with a nice finishing twist but it was ruined by the narrator.
When she was speaking for the character her accent and pitch was good, but when she was reading the character’s thoughts the inflections that she used were really distracting. She started with a high pitch which fell away towards the end of the sentence.
I would recommend Tana French’s narrators over this one anytime
