I loved the story & especially all of the relationships, also her attention to detailed to the historical facts of the time. Her stories are always on point, but have a lightness and a happiness to them even though it was such a dark time. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

A unique look at the Ringling romance
Revisado: 05-02-23
Fantastic story with a unique twist on historical fiction‘s viewpoint of John and Mabel Ringling‘s romance. I live only 10 miles from the Ca’D’Zan in Sarasota so I loved the history that this story provided and gave me more insight and I can’t wait to go back and walk the grounds once again. Great job in the narration with the accents, it was very believable. A wonderful story you won’t regret it.

What a great sequel. I can’t wait to start reading the third book. The author nailed it again and wove the story through three different time periods. Very interesting as I loved learning more about the Irish history!

Amazing TRUE story about Courage
Revisado: 04-03-23
I don’t want to spoil the story for anyone, but just know that as you’re reading it to remind yourself that the majority if what you’re reading actually happened. The bravery of the generation who lived through the evil in World War II, is amazing and the focus of these women in the story, will move you to tears. Courage is the theme of the story,
wrapped in love. Fantastic listen!!!

Can we get a sequel???!!! What a great read. I love WW2 historical fiction and this one was true to the time but while many sad events occurred it left me feeling happy and that goodness, friendship and love triumph in the end. Jennifer Ryan does a superb job of bringing these characters to life who feel like your friends by the end of the book. Jayne Entwistle is a truly gifted narrator. Listen to this book!

Revisado: 03-14-23
What a fantastic book. I listen to so many World War II novels that sometimes, I am looking for a lighter, less horrific one, and this was perfect. It was still very realistic, and had tragic moments throughout, but I loved the camaraderie, friendships, and the romance throughout. This was a part of WW2 history that I was not quite as familiar with. I found it fascinating. I loved the authors note at the end as well. Definitely a great read or listen- you will not regret it.
