Historia
Since she was nine years old, Alina Dziak knew she would marry her best friend, Tomasz. Now 15 and engaged, Alina is unconcerned by reports of Nazi soldiers at the Polish border, believing her neighbors that they pose no real threat, and dreams instead of the day Tomasz returns from college in Warsaw so they can be married. But little by little, injustice by brutal injustice, the Nazi occupation takes hold, and Alina’s tiny rural village, its families, are divided by fear and hate. Then, as the fabric of their lives is slowly picked apart, Tomasz disappears.

This book was a page turner. It kept me intrigued from the first few pages. It was heartbreaking and heartwarming. I loved the story from past to present and the narration was fantastic. I highly recommends

Narrator is awful
Revisado: 08-27-20
I love Greg Iles. He is one of my absolute favorite authors but I have tried 2 of his audiobooks so far and have exchanged both of them. I can’t get into it. This narrator is so monotonous and boring that I can’t even pay attention. You can barely tell when he even gets into character.

Historia
Some places earn their bad reputation through tall tales or chance. Grizzly Falls is different. Here, killers aren't just the stuff of legends and campfire lore. Someone is in the nighttime shadows, watching the local teens play around in the moonlit woods. Waiting for the right moment, the right victim. Waiting to take away a life. Detective Regan Pescoli is counting the days until her maternity leave. Exhausted and emotional, the last thing she needs is another suspected serial killer.

Great book!
Revisado: 07-07-20
I love the “To Die” series. They are one of my favorite books. This one wasn’t as great as the other books I have read but I still thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to the next book.
The narrator did a great job with the voices and the storyline kept me intrigued the whole time and guessing the “who done it” part to the end. Quite a twist at the end too!
