This book starts off rather infantile—but it gets better. It reminded me of someone trying to tell a fairy tale to a class of preteens, (both the narration and the words read,) except reality check-- suddenly there are mating scenes. After turning it off and back on twice, (I really wanted to give it chance,) it turned into a story that I cared about and had to keep listening to. Both the narration and the actual words do even out-- or mature- as it turns into a good book. I just want to encourage people to stick with it, give it a chance, it's worth it. I’m going to go buy the next book in the series now.

Narration sounds like computer generated voice

I think there's a chance this book would be good but wow, the narration actually sounds like computer generated voice - not kidding or exaggerating. Maybe I'll buy the actual book and try reading it myself but I just can't listen to this. It was so irritating, I felt like I was going to crawl out if my skin or scream after 10 minutes - - I just couldn't take it any more. It's so sad, the book itself like like it might be good...

Really enjoyed this story.

It took me quite awhile to get used to Bruce Cullen's rendition of these characters but I finally did. He has a wonderful voice, very sexy, but the Russian accent took a bit to get used to. Joel Leslie was smooth as always-Russian accent included and I can anyways listen to whatever he does. The angst over the GFY was not so heavy that I wanted to skip ahead to avoid the torture. Very sweet story.

Trying to listen to this was practically painful

I'm not sure whether it was the narration or the book content that made this so bad. I've purchased and listened to every book in this series so far and enjoyed them. With this performance, I couldn't tell one character from another. There was alot of what seemed like needless pausing or skeet down the pace almost like he was tied or something. He tried to put emotion into individual parts but it actually reminded me more of being a kid listening to someone read a bedtime story rather than narration of a novel. I don't understand what makes this one so difficult to listen to. I kept trying to give it a little more time over and over and finally I just couldn't take it any more and gave up. I've already purchased the next book in the series so I'm going to try to listen to that one instead.

One of the few books I'll listen to over and over

Joel Leslie and Lily Morton - just how can you go wrong. Right amount of angst, conflict, steam and HEA and lots of literal laughing out loud.

Overall I enjoyed this book.

At first I thought "Oh jeez - Romeo and Juliet with cowboys", but the only other review for this new release was good so I thought why not. I really did enjoy it. I could definately see where it was going but the relationships were endearing and there were a few "Oh didn't see that coming" moments. The characters get their HEA. Now I'm wishing this were a series.

Good story, narration not so great

I really enjoyed this story. Not nearly as sexy as most but made up for it in the story. Regrettably the narrator was mostly monotone in the non character posts. I kept falling asleep even though I'd get frustrated and back the story up to hear the missed parts because I wanted the story itself. I tiny but tough to get through because of that. I did enjoy the character voicing though.
