Historia
Chip Dodd invites us to begin to know our hearts so that we better know ourselves and can live fully in relationship with others and, ultimately, with God. The journey begins with discovering the gift of the eight feelings. We have eight feelings that allow us to live fully in a tragic place - hurt, lonely, sad, anger, fear, shame, guilt, and glad. By listening to these eight God-given tools, we can be who we are made to be so we can do what we are made to do.

Freeing & a Work to Heal
Revisado: 02-18-23
My counselor suggested this book to me because I like to stuff and hide my feelings to protect myself from others’ judgement. This book is necessary and so helpful. The author reads it like he is speaking as a caring mentor. It is just healing if you are looking to open up your eyes to your heart.

Historia
Fresh out of college, Aggie Milliken thinks she's prepared for anything life can throw her way. Think again, Aggie! After the abrupt loss of her sister and brother-in-law, Aggie is stunned to find herself the sole guardian of their eight lively children. If learning basic parenting skills wasn't complicated enough, she must also battle the children's half-crazed grandmother, survive a massive remodeling project, and navigate the waters of new friendships-alone. She has little experience with children and none with housekeeping, and it shows.

Comfy, Cozy, & Also Realistic
Revisado: 08-17-22
I was so sad to not be able to find out if Aggie picked Luke! : ( He was so sweet and perfect for her and the kids. Maybe there’s a sequel I haven’t heard of; I will be looking for it! I also loved the fact that the characters, interested in one another, didn’t throw themselves at each other all the time. Aggie’s life was about the Lord and the kids-not centered around being fulfilled by men, as many singles are tempted to do. I appreciated that. I also loved the warmth of many of the characters. It was a good and cozy, God-centered, realistic, comedic and lighthearted book. Loved it!

Really Enjoyed This Book
Revisado: 02-28-20
This book had some comedy, romance, and mystery. I really loved that it was Christian-based-it was very encouraging and realistic in view of the character’s everyday lives and hardships. A great listen!

Historia
Gratitude is a choice. If we fail to chose it, by default we choose ingratitude. And once allowed into the heart, ingratitude does not come by itself but with a lot of other seedy companions that only succeed in stealing joy. To not choose gratitude - daily and deliberately - is more costly than we usually realize.

Love This Book
Revisado: 03-14-19
This book is very humbling for the reader and brings into remembrance that there is always something to be thankful for. It also shows that hard times don’t necessarily mean God doesn’t love you, especially when you’ve done all you know to do right. Hard times means He wants to show His powerful, healing love for you, and He wants to show that same love through you to others who have suffered greatly. It’s a better, more peaceful, more joyful way in Him, that takes faith! This book is very good. I needed to hear it.

Historia
We live in a culture that's all about self, becoming the best "me" I can be instead of becoming like Jesus. This me-centered message affects every area of our lives - our friendships, our marriages, even our faith - and it breaks each one in different ways. The self-focused life robs our joy, shrinks our souls, and is the reason we never quite break free of insecurity. In this book, Sharon Hodde Miller invites us into a bigger, Jesus-centered vision - one that restores our freedom and inspires us to live for more.

Fresh Look, Refreshing
Revisado: 03-04-19
I bought this book because of a devotional I found in a Bible app by YouVersion. I loved that devotional and I loved this book. I have always been so worried about what others have thought of me, thinking that I could change myself to avoid all criticism and any hurt I accidentally put on others. It does not work. In fact, it only made things 10 times worse. You work to make one person you enjoy in your life happy, another now becomes upset. Others are irritated that you care so much about what people think of you(usually with good intentions), while others treat you as an inconvenience, etc, etc. It will never end. You cannot serve two masters(Matthew 6:24), and have a peace and joy in your life. This book brought me a fresh perspective. Just because someone slights me does not mean my existence is cause of someone else’s life being harder. There’s pain in life; we cannot change that. And we ourselves cannot heal another’s own hurt heart. Only Jesus can do that. Thank you for writing this book!

This book is wonderful, and it is just about the epitome of the Christian walk-all the obstacles we face as we learn to trust our Creator and learning the purposes of the pain He brings us through. A breath of fresh air from the “ear-tickling” being preached today...

Sweet Love Story
Revisado: 10-31-17
I really enjoyed listening to this book! There was only one thing that made it difficult to listen to a few short times-there are some edits that still need to be made where the man reading the story stops and starts over a line as if it would be cut out later. I think someone just overlooked it. But it was a great story to listen to!
