Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

N/A

What other book might you compare The Lady and the Mountain Fire to and why?

Ms. Beller's other books.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

She did not use good judgment in trying to vary the voices of each character. She used a little girl voice (which I found annoying) for the heroine. The narrator has a pleasant voice and could have used her voice for the heroine instead of putting on this high pitched silly voice. Her voice for all the women was not used in a conversational manner. Her voice for the hero was more believable because she did not force it.She mispronounced many words. For example, enveloped does not mean putting into an envelope. The word is envelop ed: to surround. Albeit is not "all bait". Etc. It ruins the story when the narration is uneducated.

Did The Lady and the Mountain Fire inspire you to do anything?

I enjoyed looking up the bible passages.

Any additional comments?

This was a good story, as I have found all of Ms. Beller's books in this genre.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Tenth Chamber to be better than the print version?

No.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Tenth Chamber?

Luc finding the cave

Which scene was your favorite?

Luc finding the cave

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Luc finding the cave

Any additional comments?

The only problem I had with this book was that the narrator insisting on precisely using the French pronounciations for the locations and characters instead of the way an American would say them. It became wearing on the ear.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

No idea.

What was most disappointing about BJ Harvey’s story?

The woman had a really vulgar mouth. But it was the swearing (especially God damn it and Holy this and Holy that) that really offended me. That did not add anything to the story. I had no connection to the heroine.

What about Lucy Rivers and Christian Fox ’s performance did you like?

Pleasant voices.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment. I like romance novels, but this one had no redeeming factor. The story was weak to begin with.

Any additional comments?

Can you imagine this foul mouthed person raising a child? Me neither.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I am used to silly romance stories and actually they can be fun. But this story is just fluff. It is made impossible to listen to by the little girl voice of the narrator.

Would you ever listen to anything by Ruth Cardello again?

Possibly.

Would you be willing to try another one of Kim Bubbs’s performances?

No.

What disappointed you about Taming the Wind?

This book is like reading a prologue for the first 50% of the book. The beginning is nothing but a primer on how to be a rancher's wife; cooking, cleaning etc. It could have been a much shorter book.

Has Taming the Wind turned you off from other books in this genre?

No. There are many fine books of this genre. Tracie Peterson is an excellent writer and I could recommend many of her books.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

There was a little more of the "God talk" than Peterson usually has in her Christian books, so that was a little overdone.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

It could have been a new story. This story was so full of sentences and descriptions that could have come from other books, that there was nothing new in this story.

Has Forever Betrothed, Never the Bride turned you off from other books in this genre?

No.

What about Tim Campbell’s performance did you like?

He has a pleasantly modulated voice. His portrayal of women's voices is good.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Yes. It was the usual romance.
